The tail lights in the middle not working?

Sorry for asking about this, but we are not able to figure out what is wrong, maybe a very simple solution (we hope) but if any one here can help, please do.
The 2 lights/bulbs are not working, they are as written in the middle/centrum, and these 2 bulbs are bigger than the all the others tail lights.
Are these some kind of a fog lights, or are they activated in a special way, is there a special fuse for these 2 bulbs etc. All the others tail lights works fine.

93-96 or is it a 97-98

93-96 has 3 194 bulbs often referred to as peanut bulbs, which light up only with running lights if there not working check wiring that runs inthe trunk hinge into the trunk

97-98 has a neon bulb that runs the length of the light and is controlled by a balace that is prone to failure

Anyway, those two are your reverse lights. With car off on a flat surface, turn the key on and put the car in reverse and get out and look to see if they are on. You should see them in the dark when backing up either way.

The reverse lights (white) are working fine, I am referring to the two red lights who surround the red ones, just like all the others tail lights (the 2 bulbs are bigger), will these only illuminate (along with the white ones) when in "R" reverse? Hmmmm

I did find a bad wireconnection, fixed now
But just to clarify: Should the tail light illuminate all the way a cross the trunk? I.e. from the right to left, also around the reverse lights?

No. The middle part does not. I have one that I modified to do this in my junk pile cause it bothered me that it did not! I also installed strobe flashing lights with the reverse lights. It was pretty fun backing up and anyone would see me. But I think there are just three lights per side.

Side note: BE CAREFUL when installing lamps. Make sure they are the right wattage, you will melt the plastic!
