Last week they were $379, which I still find to be way too much but damn, now the price has went out of control. Shipping was $20 I believe.

I'm glad I got mine when I did. I knew they were about to be going up. This means quantity is beginning to run low and when they're out, there will be no more.
My right front was $378 to the door. Now, this would cost me $416 to my door.
, just for the right side. Up $38 from one week ago at Tasca.
My left front was $362 to the door and were not bought from American Air. I got mine from Tasca and now they have went up from

Right - $340 + shipping to $375 + shipping which averages right at $37 or did. Now shipping is $40.31 to my door.
Left - $333 + shipping to $366.49 + shipping.

Rear OEM from Tasca are $289 + shipping and American Air does not have OEM rear air springs. $100 for their brand.

So, both places have went up, especially American Air. Maybe his shipping is free at that price, idk but I'm not worried about them anymore, for a long time hopefully. I just thought I'd throw this out there for those of you that need new ones and keep putting it off. I would expect within a year that there will be no more of them. My pair were dated 2008, meaning, last year made.

When you click the link above, read what Eddie says about them being discontinued. Might be less than a year before all are gone. ~shrugs~

Holy :q:q:q:q. That's really expensive.. Thanks for posting this up, just hope by the time I am ready to replace the air suspension that they still make replacements. If not, I'll most likely get coil suspension if that's what its called, with a 1.5'' drop. This is the worst thing about owning a mark viii, obsolete replacement parts, not a lot of places make new replacements so most replacement parts would come from donor parts cars. =/

Borrow the cash from pops now while they're there. Like I said, you'll be good to go for an easy 10+ years, likely around 15 years if taken care of. These will be gone if you plan to wait till next year. Can't say there wasn't a warning. I even mentioned this about a month ago somewhere and now I see it happening forreal.

In other words, stuff like
wish list: 2.5'' true duals,sound system, 18x9 Cobra R's
will still be around but the OEM air shocks will not and if they are, I suspect the price will be an easy $500 each + shipping. Juss sayin....

I wish I could ask them for $$. And I definately hear on you the wish list part. I'll have to see what I can do to get some cash. Thanks again.

Ya know, I've been avid air suspension supporter for years but this is just to much.

My entire air suspension is solid, with a spider extreme V3, brand new compressor/dryer and an NIB asham8 I would of never thought to ditch it..but at these prices? I might just have to.

In the dead of winter my fronts leaked down (mint rears) and I couldnt find a good set of front gen2's locally, so i got a like new coil conversion for $165 bucks to keep it on the road and buy me some time and honestly it rides great and with the fatter swaybars and some vogtland lowering springs i bet it'd be right where I want it.

To drop almost $900 bucks on just two front shocks seems a bit much....you could go aftermarket air at that price and have a world of options open up.

I should sell off my asham8, compressor, spiderv3 buy the Vogtland gummies, put the rest of the $ in my pocket and never look back.

When time and work allows, I think that's exactly what I'm doing. Get my braces installed, fatter swaybars, and back to carving corners like my old Mark VII 5 speed (full length subframe connectors, lowering springs, KYb's, energy suspension poly bushings in all controls arms, front and back, all new suspension, turbo coupe front bar (the fattest next to GTC bar) addco rear (fattest) and more.

That thing rode like it was on rails, I miss it.

I'm all for the air suspension but $1000 for stock shocks, that dont even have obsolete Koni's installed...damn.

PM me if you decide to sell the asham8. After being on my back and knees like a whore in a gang bang, I would hate to deal with the "Rays Switch" again but for an asham8, I would. Seems to be more options with that than the RS.

How old would you say your fronts are right now? I really don't recall what you put in up there. And yes, this is going to keep up and then next will be, "DISCONTINUED"

3 year old arnotts. they are little soft, but they are smooth and quiet.

dang. if this keeps up i'll be going to springs when my air starts leaking again.

Same here unfortunately. My dad said he refuses to let me touch the air suspension to swap over to springs but if it comes down to no more replacements being made that's the only thing to do really. I love the air ride but it would be cool to have a little bit more sporty ride. I'd definately get lowering springs. The air suspension in my car was replaced around 3 years ago, everything was done. But my air ride is definately leaking. What's a good spring setup so there's still a smooth ride but better handling?

I had the ray switch too, i sold it and got an asham8. Its brand new, same as the day I got it. Had the car off the road when purchased and the car was in the body shop, havent gotten around to it. They are $200 shipped to the US and take weeks to get. Id probably sell it for the same as I may have other plans if I keep the air suspension.

Vogtland gummies are the only lowering springs i'd get, $259 bucks for all 4 (springs only)

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang! Well, when my Arnotts go bad I guess either the car will sit or I'll have to go coil-over:( That sucks. There's no way I'll ever be able to drop $900 bucks on two front shocks. That's beyond ridiculous. And I'm so far in debt right now I can't afford to borrow any money until I pay something off. It may be time to start thinking about selling the ol' girl and getting something a little more practical and less expensive to maintain like a T-Bird or Cougar (or maybe even another Town Car:)). I love my Mark but this is too much. Some day I'll learn to stop buying high maintenance cars with my budget. And good grief why do people still insist on incorrectly calling these shocks "struts"? It boggles the mind:rolleyes:.

I already warned my wife that I plan on getting a set of OEM struts before they become extinct. Mine still hold air with 89,000 miles but I want the entire front end new. Considering I have only driven it 7,000 miles in 3 years a new set should last me until I either die or sell.

COILS RULE!!!

Guys, I too was an "Air suspension junkie". I loved having the "luxury" of adjusting the height of my car, hearing the ride height click, watching it come down to park height when I'd turn off the car, etc... I admit it to this day that it was really nice to have. It really made the car stand out but you know what made my car stand out more? Going to eat at a restaurant at 8pm & when I'd come out, SURPRISE!!! Rear was on the ground then having to jack up the rear to assist the air ride inflate, or go on vacation for the weekend then come back & SURPRISE, car is slammed or walk out of a movie with my wife & find teh front end slammed & have to drive home that way.

After, 4,5,8,9,12,15 times it really gets to you, when it wasnt a valve, it was the compressor, when it wasnt the compressor it was a bag, when it wasn't a bag it was the solenoid or a hose or a ride height sensor or a relay...

My last straw was when the front end on my prairie tan climbed to 4x4 mode I still gave it the opportunity. Swapped both ride height sensors & NOTHING, it would still do the same thing. Then it started to sag from the passenger rear. Thats when I just had enough. The coil conversion has to be one of the best investments I've ever done on my cars. Immediately following the prairie tan, I converted the 93 but with Eibachs so that it would be lowered. I can take both cars from Miami - California & back & not worry about any air ride headaches! :)

Thats no fun. It gets to the point($$) where enough is enough. My only regret is not doing enough research when I converted. Luckily I got a smokin' deal locally on my 1.5" kit so I can't beat myself up too much about it.

Trust me, if I had tons of cash, I'd convert all 3 of my Marks back to air suspension. ALL BRAND NEW, all 4 bags, the lines, the compressor, relays, ride height sensors, etc... EVERYTHING! however I don't have that cash so coils was the solution! Who knows, maybe one day I'll win a scratch off ticket & I'll convert back to air. :D

The thing witht he air suspension is when you start haing problems arround 100K miles you just have to replace the key components with new stuff. Trying to limp it along with used parts just makes the drama worse. Even if they don't leak sittting, they probably leak when you drive which overworks the pump....yada yada yada. Yes, some people find a perfect set of used struts that last another 100K but most don't have that luck. Then you have the the mixed opinions on springs. Some love them and some don't. I have never heard someone say they just put new Ford struts and they suck so they are switching to springs. Many have said the opposite.

I am waiting for my new used AIRSPRINGS to arrive. They were brand new in 08 and have only served 20K miles in that time.

I took my car out of winter storage 2 weeks ago and installed a used unit on the left front corner as I knew that was the bad one. The unit I put in was worse than the unit I took out, it slammed the car in 10 minutes compared to over night. I do not want to kill or hurt the compressor as it has been over worked as it is so I would like to get at least his season out of it and then replace it as it just needs it.

I am happy that my Mark is not my daily driver as it is 14 years old and I do not know it's entire life so who knows what was done and what wasn't. I love the car and I got it knowing that the air could and would give me trouble at some point. I have a 96 on air that has not moved in 8 months and the thing has barely dropped at all.
