so this guy comes up to me the other day, saw my Mark VIII, started talking to me like he was some kind of expert. yack yack yack he keeps talking about how ex-brother in law, twice removed on his cousins mother's sister's aunt's sid was some kind of engineer at Ford when they designed the Mark VIII, then he started going on about how the entire firewall was made from titanium, I'm looking at this guy like he's escaped from the funny farm. any who I make up some bull :q:q:q:q excuse and get out of there.
has anyone heard of a titanium firewall or was this guy blowing smoke out his ass

Lol.... titanium, so what did they do bond it to the rest of the mild steel body with adhesives that have only become wildly used in the last 10 years...

Interesting things, the 93's had dense foam in the main frame rails...

Many years ago when I was a ricer I used that expanding foam in the rails of my 92 300Z after Import Tuner did a write up on it. I really didnt notice the car get any stiffer but it sure did get quieter.

And just FYI, I always hated FWD "sports" cars. I had 8 RX-7 (2-Turbo2s and one FD3S R-1), 300z, 300z turbo, 300Z TT, last gen Supra (non-turbo), several DSM AWD cars etc etc. I didnt do the neon or grafix but I had several stickers and a few body kits and big wings (300z TT and 3rd gen RX-7 that actually made use of them) and loud systems and all that. When F&F came out I thought it was the best movie ever! :lol:

A few Vetts, Cobras, Audis, BMWs and a couple Porches latter I realize the follie of my ways.
