I am in the process of putting a 98 trans in my 93. Do I need to swap out the TCC solenoid? I keep reading conflicitng info. on whether I need to swap it out or not.

Thanx:)

I have a 97 trans in my 94. I used the 94 TCC. The impedance of the coil changed during the years. I'd go ahead and swap it, it's easy to do anyway.

You will have to modify the 93 TCC because the 98 trans has the printed circuit board instead of the wires I had to do this on my 94. Just cut the plastic away from the pins on the TCC then it will plug in to the board.

Yes you need to replace the TCC the coil impedance, the 97/98 are full variable lock-up and have different windings and will not function properly in a Gen1, and may destroy the lock up feature in the ECM.
