Was waiting to turn left into my subdivision...toyota sienna behind me didnt really seem to care, they had to lock em up, and actually didnt hit me. releif...then BAM! honda pilot just didnt seem to care that anyone was stopped lol. pushed the van into me. Pilot was deffinetly totalled. van might actually be totalled to since it was an older van, like 98. tailgate, exhaust, bumper, front bumper. Come to think of it the scratch on my rear bumper might total my car too! Na i came out looking like nothing happened. my neck hurts a bit, but the bumper has a few scratches, i looked under it, she held up damn well! honestly nothing that some touch up paint and a buffer wont fix. but probably 500$ worth of work for a shop. I'll get an estimate at work thursday.

now...what to buy with the insurence money??!

its the rear bumper. car looks fine, ill take pics.

i looked at it a little closer. the cover got kinked near the bend be the taillights(ill get pics) so it will need a new bumper cover! also the chrome molding got hit. fordpartsdirect.com or whatever said the molding was 111$ and the cover was 590.60$ ....700$ and no paint or labor yet. SWEET!

I know u got hit in the rear. I was saying spend the money on an LSE front

im not intrested enough in the front end to get an LSE bumper, id rather pocket the money and put it towards a new bike(rocket) or something lol

These pics are taking at night with a flash, in natural light it looks like nothing happened and most of it rubs off with your finger. You can see though where it pushed the bumper up

yeah its not cracked or anything thats awesome. your insurance isnt are the dicks that pay directly to the shop are they

no, its not gonna come from my insurence anyways. If i got that quoted at my work it would be alot of money lol(mercedes benz body shop). I'm just gonna buff what i can out of it and touch up what i can lol.

I would just buff it out and leave it alone, it is a 2000. Don't know the milage, but mine got hit in the front fender and i'm leaving it. Just the daily driver for work anyways.

yeah, it looks like all of that would come out, maybe alittle 1000 grit, and rubbing compound, +1 on the LSE BUMPER!

^^ yup. pocket the money.

125k miles, 2000...its worth about 3000$ lol

Dude, you were in a 3 car accident one of those vehicles you claim was totaled. You walked away with a stiff neck and minimal damage. Why pocket anything? Your insurance will have a deductible and it would cost a body shop around 200$ to take out that scuff and bring back some luster, 0 if you do it yourself unless you need supplies then its still under 100$. Whats your deductible? 500$?

Your insurance company would be stupid to file that for anymore than your deductible no matter where you had it looked over.

they hit him they pay all of it he does not pay a deductible the problem may be that the pilots insurance may say it is not their fault the van hit you they were too close to you and the vans insurance may say it is not their fault could see a pissing contest in the future:rolleyes:

dont know...The pictures dont show it very well. but the bumper literally got kinked. like you know how when you bend some plastics they crease and turn white and no matter what they wont bend back to being straight? thats what happened in one area of my bumper. So for a PROPER fix it would need a new bumper. Its not going to be hard to convince the adjuster of that.

I dont think you understand the word "pocket" im not going to "out of pocket" anything. I will get a check from the other peoples insurence to fix my car, and i will "pocket" that (as in - put into my bank account).

Also it doesnt matter what can be done and for what prices. it matters how to properly fix the car. When insurence is in it, its not a big deal to get a bumper, if i backed into something on my own then yea, the route to go would be the cheapest to fix it. but since someone hit me, it doesnt matter, Progressive isnt going to sit there and look like a shady company saying "this car isnt worth a rear bumper, cant you just find a side shop and tell em to fix it for 100$?".

As stated befor, my insurence company wont have to pay for anything. I'm not at fault, I dont have to worry about a deductable. The woman driving the honda pilot admitted all fault to everything at the scene, so its not a problem.

Jwerner, just because your being so negative, ill go out of my way to keep you informed, hows that sound?

Im not being negative Im giving you advice but go a head and waste your time. I was being nice. Sucks you got hit but I dealt with worst sitting parked at work and cleaned it up in no time. Like I said be lucky it wasn't worst than that, but thats such a negative view.

You work at a Mercedes dealership doing body work/recon and you cant belly up to a scuff?

Good luck trying to get anyone to pay for that. I highly doubt they will and good luck trying to rip someone else off by filing a claim thats worth more than the damage and then pocketing the money, as if UPS wasnt enough.

The other company will not stand for giving you the cash. They will be more up tight than your own company, trust me. The wont lose out for someone thats not a policy holder. You'll have to take the driver to claims court. A pain in the ass but a legitimate way of handling it.

You make me sound like such a horrible person, scamming all these people. i love it

whos side are you on? belly up to a scuff on the bumper? why should i have to? did i put it there? no! i got hit by another car! i dont know whos insurence company im dealing with, i havent seen the police report, i could be dealing with the sienna's insurence company. all i heard was to call state farm and that the lady in the pilot addmitted all fault.

All i know is this, i got hit by a car...it damaged my car, damage that wasnt caused by me. im contacting insurence companies to get it straightened out. ill be damned if i have to pay out of pocket for someone elses mistake. I dont know what insurence you deal with, but thats not how this whole thing works. Its also not a scam, Look at the car, there is damage. some of the damage isnt visable in the pictures as well as it is in person.

quit acting like your gods favorite person that obeys all rules. Heres something that will piss you off...i garentee atleast 100 people pocketed insurence money from a wreck today. your not obligated to fix your car, noone can make you.

and also i didnt scam ups. The company got billed for me refusing the package and it getting shipped back to them. they called me today and told me they couldnt refund my money since i refused delivery and they got charged twice for shipping.

So i spent 35$ for nothing. I wouldve posted this but new/more important issues have come up. and now i must try to scam other people.

id love to hear you talk to a lawyer about all the wrongful things they have done. and all the people they have scammed.

here is the crease pointed out. most of you didnt see it im sure. Its unrepairable when this sort of thing happens to a bumper like this. the proper fix is a new bumper. the shady fix might be to sand it down and use body filler, but the bumper still wouldnt fit correctly since its creased.

Hey trilkb, can you take a pic of your entire rear end? I'd like to see how you have your tail pipes set up.
Oh and which one you have as well.

If i had to do it over again i would make sure they were sticking straight out. mine are angled down about 5-10* which can get annoying to look at from certain angles. tips came off ebay, dual 3.5 i think angle cut stainless steel.
