how much stiffer, if any, is the sport model sway bar going to be over the standard suspension sway bar. i have a klunking in the front end which is one of the sway bar mounts.

klunk.. could be many things

The klunk could be the lower ball joints, the sway bar chassis mounts or the knuckle mounts...
usually it the ball joints, as expensive as those are, you can't even get the bushings for the bar from ford you have to buy the whole bar.

i'm gettin' all that change in a few days, while i still have warranty

mmmm....usually it's the sway bar bushings. Not that all your suggestions shouldn't be checked, but if you do a search, you will find a ton of klunks tied to bad sway bar bushings.

It's the stabilizer bar bushings. According to a Lincoln engineer if you change the front bar you will also need to change the rear bar. If you don't, you will induce understeer and lose the built-in handling. Replacing the rear bar requires lowering the entire rear sub-assembly.

Only if you are changing the size and stiffness of the front bar. If you just replacing bar to fix the bushings, then no.
