I just installed a 1-1/4 rear sway bar from supercoupe performance and when i took it for a road test it shifted made contact with my rear passenger air bag and burst it.
Is this a common problem with these sway bars on mark viii's ? I want to get a new bag now but i'm concerned it will happen again any advice?

Gotta make sure its tight and centered before testing it out. They do come close to the bags.

my 1.25 front bar contacted my compressor and killed it. i was told that it was an old design. can anyone confirm that?

Both sides are really close, do you think i'll have the same problem when I install the new bag?

He is prolly talking about the AC comp.

I have not seen rear collars on the Addcos. Then again I didnt know the fronts were supposed to have any untill DLF told me.

Collars do not come with the Addco rear bars, nor have I ever had an issue on either car.

And given the positioning of the bushings and brackets, along with the curve in the bar, I don't know how it could shift that much unless there was a problem with either the bushing or the bracket.

But, it is close.....

I think you put it on upside down.

Yes! Oops...lol

that is physically imposable. i thought the same thing when i was putting it in, i re-dropped the k member flipped it, and it is impossible to bolt the k member back up with it upside down. even if you were able to then the links would be no where near the bar. my pics are in my old computer or i would post them up.

i actually found them

keep in mind i had not bolted it back up, as i had not notched the body for it yet. i had one hell of a time with it

Hmm.. I've never tried to install one improperly...so ok, I'll take your word on it

I had to do my Addco bars on the front and rear 3x+ each before I got ones that fit correctly without hitting something or other.
They were amazing in helping, but I still should not have had to go through that!

put your glasses on. :eyeroll:

it was a combination of my old phone and the light. that pic was never intended for others eyes. i was using it for a reference, walking back and forth to a computer to make for certain i wasn't pulling a retard move.
