I do agree with the acceleration. Seemed very similar. I thought the super would push 60 faster or maybe he wasn't flooring it.

This is what the buyer said

the guy was hard to get ahold of and when I did finally get hold of him he said he the supercharger was added by the dealer but the supercharger itself did not have a factory stamp for calfornia's smog laws. In other words its not smog compliant with the supercharger on it. Other states might not have a problem with it but I cant take the chance so I backed out. Other than that I would have bought it in a heartbeat. Something to blow away those turbo jettas & hondas to boot.

I have never heard of a dealer installing something that is aftermarket, on top of voiding smog - I believe it's illegal for them to do so, like disabling ABS or messing with the SRS system - big fines, warranty issues, ...etc

I don't think they are allowed to changed anything that messes with emissions unless it is for the better.. And maybe not even then..

not true my dad works at a dealer here in jersey and they do aftermarket upgrades all the time on new cars such as superchargers, intakes exhaust, tints ect.. maybe its dif for other states

I believe they can if there is a kit made for it. Such as a supercharger for a GM n/a 3800. Or a magnaflow full cat back system. I don't think they are allowed to custom make piping or such. That's an i don't think so I could be totally wrong here.

if a dealer did custom work on a car such as a system custom s.c kits it would cost them big money. In the long run on a car when they go to sell it they will lose money because whos gona pay say an extra 2 or 3k over what the car is worth cuz the dealer decided to do custom work not too many people would
