So, that other thred of mine got a little off topic, so I'll just post the progress pics here.

I took some good pics of the actual box building, but don't have my camera with me at work. These pics I took with my iphone.

Filling screw holes:

Sanding the filler down:

And here's the wiring I did. Stainless steel bolts, washers, nuts, and lock washers. And to seal it off, I bought 2 rubber washers (1 for each terminal).

The order from the inside:

bolt head
flat washer
ring terminal
rubber washer

And the exterior has the ring terminal, lock washer, and nut:

And in the trunk. Going to pick up carpet today:

looks pretty good. how much in materials did all that run if you dont mind me asking

I have access to a custom cabinet line (I'm part owner of a retail cabinet shop). They precut all the pieces for me (I gave them the cut list), so all I had to do was assemble. So the birch ply, precut, was around $50. The stainless steel bolts/nuts/washers/etc. were about $3 at a local fleet store. Then ring terminals and 12 guage stinger wire were about $10. Aeroport was $10, but cost $11 to ship

Looks good. Can you get into the spare tire or is the box too big?

I'll have to pull the box. No biggie though.

Also just ordered a bulk pack of second skin damplifier pro and a couple sheets of overkill.

Showed up today. HOpefuly the peel n seal comes off the trunk lid easily. Otherwise I'm in for a long weekend.:

Oh, and carpet rant. Went to a local place here, they said they had grey or black box carpet. I went over there, and the grey was way too light, so I bought the black. After leaving, I decided I would rather get a match for the stock trunkliner. So I went to partsexpress and ordered 2 yards of "charcoal" carpet. Wouldn't you know, it's that same damn lighter gray color the local shop had. Now, I finally found the right carpet at partsexpress, but I have $40 worth of carpet that doesn't match. Dunno if I will wait and spend another $25 on carpet, or get some black spray dye, and try to do a light coat on the light gray to get it closer to matching the stock trunk carpet.

That sounds like something that would happen to me on thecarpet.

That SS trunk kit is awesome. Your trunk is going to be super heavy though, the lid that is. Also you can apply it nicely with a hammer/mallet. I wanted to make sure it would never come off. Haha

Nice work. I will be in your area the afternoon of the 26th. We should meet up. Love to see your LS in person.:)

Thanks, guys. John, I wish I could. Gonna be at a music festival from the 26th thru the 29th. :(

Here's the photo of the 2 carpets next to the box in the trunk:

Ask the guy on ebay what carpet he uses...i have the box and its a perfect match.

It was between that and Bella tempo. I'm going to Bella.

Very cool man. I'm a big moe. and Wiz fan so it should be pretty fun. I actually took my LS to Summercamp when I owned it in 06

ask Tru where he got his sheet of carpet, it was a d@mn good match

Box is about 2.25 cubes after displacements, and tuned to 33hz. It is delicious. Willbe much better when the lows open up fully.
