I think this link will work:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compa...20&pagenum=1&pagemark=1&x=103&y=4&RunFlat=All

Problem is I think they just like what they have in stock or generally sell. There was a Potenza 960 in 18" size they did not list, but it was in the Bridgestone spec sheet and I can order it from my rep.

Anyway, looking for a 225/35/20 and wanted a Bridgestone since I can get those below cost installed.

Not going to happen it seems.

So of the ones above, what ya think? 20 inch tires at 35 are HARD to find!!!!

Thanks for any input!!!!

These are for your Mark right? Why are you looking at a 225/35-20 tires? They are smaller than the stockers in diameter, a 235/35 or 245/35 is closer to the right size, unless you are doing it for price as well.
Bridgestone has a few tires in the 245/35-20 size...
I could recommend a few cheaper summer tires, but they aren't Bridgestones...

245 looked too wide?

edit: Ok, ya actually they are not too bad. I have 215s on my car was using that for reference. Just looked up stock size of 225.

Hmmmm....

Told my tire rep that I was going 20". He said I need to go tanning more... LOL

I'd stick with a 235 or 245 tire then, the 225 will look a little skinny on them. The 245 for the most traction and closest diameter match.
You shouldn't run into issues with the wider tires if the offset is right on the rims. The 245 is about perfect for a 8.5" rim. Watch the spindle going up to, and the upper ball joint itself for clearance on the front. The rear fender lip is most I think you'd need to worry about in the rear unless the rims are way off...

fyi, the 20" rims I have are 8.5" wide and I'm running 255/35 tires on them. I had to flush the upper front ball joint to the arm that holds it so it didn't rub, but this tire is bigger around then what I mentioned above. I have to roll the rear fender lip slightly with mine too becasue of a combination of the offset ad tire width makes it rub slightly when I hit big bumps...

These are 40mm offset, same as stock. Should be good?

If I can go 235 or 245, that does indeed open up options for me. I can still get the RE960s. Sweet.

However, after reading, the Yokahama S.drive tires are not only a great tire, they actually are a great price. My rep can get me a pretty dang good deal on them too.

Thanks for the help from everyone. I am much more familiar with tire sizes now but not THAT good yet on figuring it all out.

Sounds like 245/35/20 is the way to go then.

The 40 offset rims are different than stock (39mm on a 7" rim) because you are using a different width rim (this can be confusing at times!)
They will stick into the wheel well 20mm more on the inside and stick out towards the fender 18mm more...

Here is a fun little calculator you can play with tires sizes and effective gearing etc.
1010Tires has an offset calculator too here.
Another good calculator here for tire sizes.

Ok, 225/35/20 have been ordered and will be here on Monday. Got a great price on them also. $115 each shipped to the rep for install. I went with the Yokahama S.drive series.

I probably wont get the rims on the car right away though. I am waiting for the hood to get painted. At the same time the frame will hopefully be straightened back. Then I can get an alignment and get the tires on.

A little late but those are going to be very small. 225 on 8.5s with a 35, are you sure they will work?.

I have 245/35s on my 20x8.5s on my LS and if you are standing close to the car it looks like the rims are on the ground...and they have abit more side wall than 225/35s.

Well 245 may have rubbed. I don't want to have to deal with fender rolling, upper control arm shaving if they did not fit.

You know what you could do? Get a set of Douglas Touring from Wally World, then hop on the forums and complain that the car is difficult to control in wet weather. After that, lecture us that the tires shouldn't be a band aid for Ford's poorly designed car and try to tell us that the tires can't possibly be the problem.

Ah yes... that interesting discussion...

Huh?

Ok, no clue what was up. Two different stories. One about my air bags being "crumpled" up, yet they are fine. Another about the wheel not even fitting.

They are mounting and balancing the tires to the rims. Apparently the stock lug nuts would not have worked. Get this, the car has "lug centric" wheels. I swear they are "hub centric". Right? He said if I used the stock lugs they would scratch the paint on the rims, etc, etc....

So Friday they will be dropped of by my tire guy with the lung nuts and I will try to put them on myself and see what could be wrong. I hope nothing.
