I am trying to change both o2 sensor on the Gen 1. According to members. The best way to get them out is to use a 22mm crowfoot and a 22mm wrench. I started working on the passenger side and it is just a pain! I can not get the crowfoot on properly and the wrench just wont fit. Dropping the exhaust would be easier but i want to leave it intact. Didnt try the driver side yet. Can some PLEASE assist me.

Drop the exhaust

Just take it loose from the headers (15mm deep 3/8,universal,foot extension,6" extension,3/8 drive ratchet..this combo for the pass side upper nut) after spraying the nuts with pb-blaster, and the 2 nuts attaching it to the trans.

I dropped exhaust too and used an impact with an extension. Bamm, the nuts flew right out with no problem (after a 10 min soak of WD-40) and made the swap and then used the impact to get the exhaust back up but, I'm not dealing with any rust and not sure if you are. I used Motorcraft with the 10" wire which was a bit too long but didn't hurt anything. The 6" wire should be sufficient.

Just make sure you tackle the pass side harness plug with the exhaust slightly down out of the way ..unless you have Gumby arms..let the pipes sit on a small jack
