I've been going nuts looking for chrome mesh upper AND lower grilles with chrome surrounds, and obviously they don't make them for the LS. Similar to the ones by strut or asanti. I have been tinkering with the idea of having a sheetmetal shop cut me the surround trim, then I would weld the mesh to it, and have the whole thing chromed. Do you guys think it would be worth the time and $$$$?

Probably not. It will get very pricey.

Have you tried to see if strut would possibly make one or put them into porduction?

go cop you a mc clauren {<<---spelling might be wrong} grill and get it dipped in chrome...

a dude on cardomain that i kno did that and it came out looking beautiful

I dont think it would be worth the time. You could get the McLaren grille chromed but to have it done the right way and make it last it will cost you.

Go out and find some of that mesh in a quality brand ( if possible:shifty: ) and then look for a second gen grille but try to find one that is two piece so you can take out the center and just add the mesh in its place.

IMO a two piece would look better than a billet. It will add even that slight amount of depth.

If you ask me the mesh on LSK and on the grilles Strut makes is just to fine of a gauge. Something that would resemble the thickness of the McLaren grille would be real nice! Someone just made a mesh grille and posted it the other day thinking about it. I think his mesh was thicker but it wasn't chrome and it looked like the best home made mesh grille I have seen on this car yet.

Saw this...couldnt pass it up......I email strut.....told them to make.... I said DO IT! And..........hopefully....they will! :D haha. Keep your fingers crossed guys! Lets see what happens!

Dam I use to think about the same thing and was wondering if they would ever make one for the LS. They do make some nice grills. I'm in Air Force and work in Civil Engineering and I had thought about having the sheet metal guys to try and do the same thing. We have some guys that are dam good with that torch. Kleen I hope they take your advice, lol.

I talked to a couple of place's that do the chrome over plastic and was told by both, that the plastic that the Mclaren grills are made from will not hold the chorme film very well and would not last. I had first thought about going with that and painting the inner part part of the grill like charcoal. Then after gettin the no from the chromer's had the whole grill painted to match my LS.

well i made a grill for my car last week....it wasnt hard i bought the piece for around 50 dollars it was my first attempt and i think it turned out alright...
