Hate to hi-jack, but looking at the pics of that x-pipe and comparing it to my "home made" exhaust shop, hillbilly special, how much of a difference would there be between the two. the guy who did mine took four pieces of curved pipe cut an angle on the ends and welded them together
Yes, if no cats are going to be in the system at all. You only have two 02's in the front and none in the rear. I'm really not sure how the two bent pipes with a hole cut in each and welded is going to help or sound, for the Mark I should say.
Without cats in the front or rear, the system is going to be looking and may be needing proper equalization from both sides. Just be prepared for a sound that you might not like and reduced HP but I'm no exhaust expert either, so don't quote me on that lol. I can just say that I said it. What you bought is for a 5.4 and it's about to be installed on a 4.6
That's the X that I have but without the cats and piping. I have the X pipe only but not installed. Some on the site here use dual X pipes for better equalization and pressure and some claim more HP but again, I don't know how yours will turn out Keep us posted and if possible, throw a video up on youtube of the sound. I'm curious.
I'm hoping this will work fine. After the x pipe im going to have the mandrel bent system and then mufflers out back. I dont see anything bad happening but also I most likely wont see power gains but that doesnt bother me. I just want to get my lincoln sounding nice with my own custom exhaust. Thanks for the help guys.
