Do I loose my Steering Controls when I install my Eclipse AVN6600 Double Din?

Im pretty sure they sell a piece (forgot what its called) that will enable you to keep steering wheel controls.

Yeah, there's some kind of adapter you can get to allow the steering wheel controls to interact with the Eclipse unit. I don't know what it's called, but if you search, you should find it.

Found exactly what I needed. Now only if I could get some kind of small heater to fit inside the outside rim of the steering wheel to warm it up. This negative weather is just killer.. Wearing gloves to drive! :(

Get some of that pipe heating wrap they sell at "the depot", plug that into a power inverter and wrap your wheel with it. You'll be all set!!

So what's the solution to the wheel controls?

If you go to the link provided above by SoonerLS, Pac Audio sells adapters for Steering Controls that can hook up to your aftermarket deck, double din, etc.

Heres the link also: www.Pac-Audio.com

I have the Eclipse AVN 5495 and didnt lose my steering wheel controls though lately the volume controls have been iffy at best. Oh yeah... an aftermarket adapter is what was used. Going to have it looked at. Would much rather have steering controls when driving then using their remote.

Dartasic:

How do you like the Eclipse Unit? Ive had Eclsipse speakers before & they were right on, so Im hoping my AVN 6600 is also. Speaking of which, just got it in today. Sweet.

I love the Eclipse head unit. Nav is very fast and accurate. Music Juke is a nice feature though it wont record MP3 cd's. Only music CD's and the radio at about 128kb. Watching DVD on the 6.5 inch screen is nice also. Ask the installer (if not doing it yourself) to hook it up so you dont lose DVD playback while in motion. Im not condoning watching movies while driving but I let the kids watch!:)

Oh yeah... I havent been able to use the Sony Memory stick slot. Am told you must use Sony's reader/writer to place MP3's on the memory stick to play in the head unit. I have a Sandisk 12 in 1 reader writer. Tells me no music files on memory stick or something like that when trying to play them back.
