Hello all, I am new to the forum here. I am searching for help with my 2000 Lincoln LS v6. The check engine light is on and I am getting codes p0171 po174 (bank 1 too lean) and a p04-something that means egr bad. I have read many scenarios on here that are similar, bad vacuum, bad coils, bad egr, plugs, manifold gaskets, filters, iac. can anyone narrow this down at all? i dont have the money to hand it over to the dealer. any help is appreciated.

Well I have a some stuff on this but not a full step by step how to. It is an easy job to carry out but you will want to give yourself a saturday to do it.

It is basically a a bunch of disassy and reassy work. You'll need some basic tools, the ability to lean under the hood and about a 6 pack of beer. Given your proximity ot the brewerys the latter shouldn't be an issue :). I sugg.est waiting till the end to have the beers though

I would highly recommend replacing the coils and plugs while doing this becasue you will have them exposed during the repair.

The P0401 is the EGR and can be easily replaced. Your Bank 1 Heated Oxygen sensors are probably still ok but there is a small chance you will have to replace if this condition has existed for a long time.

If you do not have the shop manuals I suggested subscribing to alldatadiy.com. I do have the Vol1 and Vol 2 sho manuals for the 2000 LS and am willing to part with them if you prefer having the books but the alldatadiy.com site is in locked step with the shop manuals. So if you have a printer you can print your steps.

I'll be happy to provide some technical support if you need it.
