No. Her car has a stock Trac-lock. Mine has a mod'd one. Full 8.8 spools start at 31 spline. To go 31 spline cost a lot- CV shafts, Mustang hubs, New wheels because the Mustang Hubs.

I work at a parts store. Mark VIII axles are $60ea and have lifetime warranties. If I break one, I'll replace it under warranty. Though, keep in mind I have yet to break a STOCK, High mileage CV shaft.

Well this has been a interesting thread so far :p
I drove a 71' Challenger with 4:56 gears and a spool in a 8 3/4 rear. Stock axles and a 440 with a manual valve body 727 with a 3500 stall converter for 3 years.

Never broke an axle but also never passed a gas station :( Wide ass car too so there was a lot of tire speed difference in the turns. Believe it or not the car was excellent in snow with Micky Tompson I tread tires :D

However with the Mark CV's I think I would give em a break and use a Trac Lock. I have a Cusco 1.5 LSD in my WRX and it is about the most obnoxious thing to drive on the streets. When I make turns into gas stations people actually flag me down cause they think something is breaking in the rear. The sound of the tires breaking loose in tight turns with axle wrap is hateful
