Well I got this sony DD deck installed. There were a few threads on here that helped. Fitment was tight, and crutchfield said that the deck would not fit, but I trusted you guys. Overall this is a success. I had to use a file, a hammer, and a grinder. This was to file down some sluppy welds and stuff that were getting in the way. I also had to take the glove box out so that I could reach my hand back and manipulate the wiring harness as I pushed it in. This deck has no navigation, but a good all around reciever. It streams internet radio from my iphone bluetooth. I can also plug the phone in to charge or use ipod functions. Full phone functions are avilable through the blutooth also even the phone book. When I get a phone call it mutes the radio and It plays the phone call through the car speakers. I installed a mic at the top of the A pillar. Having phone integration is a first for me and I like it. It plays DVDs also, but I am not sure how useful that will be.

Thanks for the compliment. It looks much closer to OEM than the single din I had with the stupid cubby under it.

Good job man. If I have my way, I'll never go without the bluetooth again in a car. I had a girl that used to call me as soon as I got off every day and run her mouth my whole commute home.

Of course now that I have the bluetooth all anybody wants to do is text.

dammm i wish it was 65 degrees around here, im freezing my balls off!

nice unit makes me want to upgrade my stock system.

Lucky was backstage with Godsmack ;)

:D That's all I have to say.. I bet that was awesome..

What is funny is that today is the coldest day we have had this year. We have 2 cold fronts stacked on top of each other right now.

I mostly listen to assorted rock. It is always nice to catch a show.

Looks good. The video function will come in handy if you're waiting for someone for a while

Lol.. To tell you the truth, I've never even used the dvd player on mine.. I usually run cds but have never watched a movie on it..

I usually watch it while I pig out.. Grab a quick bite on the street, park it, eat while I watch and then go on my way.

That looks awesome. Some type of DD will probably be my next larger purchase for the LS.

Anyone want a stock Nav unit? :D

You can purchase an adapter to make the steering wheel controls work with aftermarket units.

I noticed that any DD head unit they carry, they say it will not fit the LS. I wanted to purchase one from them once, because I wanted to take advantage of all the free installation gear they send, but I held off on that. Did you have to source those items separately?

Metra has the best dash kits. I can't remember who I got my wiring harness from. It all cam from ebay though

Yeah I got the metra kit with harness on ebay. I think it was like $20. You just need to be wary of depth. There is a steel tube with some crappy welded brackets back there that will hit the bottom edge of the unit. Mine just barerly got hung up on the welds and brackets, so I had to file/grind the welds a little. I think Crutchfield will say it fits only if it is a straight forward install. I had to take the glove box out to pull the wiring harness out from behind the unit (as I pushed it in) into the empty space to the right rear side of the radio cubby. It fits yes, but not exactily your average DIY Crutchfield customer prodject.
