I am trying to install this sony xav in-dash double din player into my 2003 lincoln ls.

I have most of the wires matched but there is a few i have questions on.

Do i connect the two red wires together?
The light blue/blue & orange white wire one one harness & the black/black white, orange & orange/black have not matches what exactly do i do with those.

It is a sony Xav-72bt it comes with Scosche FDK13B / FDK13 and PAC SWI-PSv1

Thanks for any input.

Bigger pictures would help, a lot.

From the little audio work I've done, blue is used as the remote wire. The red, or maybe in your case orange, constant power, and black would be ground

I dont see a black/white wire in the diagram nor in your pictures. I do see a black/green wire and that would be ground. The orange/black is constant power.

read your manual, it will describe what all the wires do.

if you are talking about the orange/white wire coming off of the sony harness, that is illumination, it will not connect to anything in the ford harness. the orange and orange/black on the ford harness do not do anything and can be taped off.
the black/white in another kind of ground, i never connect it.

I am not aware of a light blue/blue wire

also the red wires are accessory, and need to be connected if the radio is supposed to turn on. on second thought, the light blue/blue wire may be a mute wire, the manual will clarify.

Ok never mind. I guess OG is old gold, wtf, assumed it was OranGe

Thanks.

I had a dumb moment. I was so close to finishing when i put the other wires where they was supposed to be it was done. I am very happy with how it looks and sounds

old pioneers had weird colors, including a orange power wire, but now everybody pretty much uses the standard aftermarket colors

It still doesnt sound very good. Like my rear door speakers arent working.

Anyone near this area that can help me with this thing?

:rolleyes:Please, please tell me you're not using electrical tape for the connections are you? I see electrical tape.:shifty: Pop the rear door panel off and see what color the wires are leading to the speakers. And use solid connections, you will end up kicking yourself in the butt many times over if those taped connections start to come loose.
