^agree'd their first offer will be ATLEAST 20% less than they are willing to pay out.
How long have you had insurance with them, and how much have you paid them "to date".
If your car is part of a policy that includes other things.. like a house..ect.
They are more likely to want to work with you and keep your business.
if it's an auto policy ONLY they may want to play hardball for a couple of innings.
Keep in mind the entire Insurance Industry took a huge hit with Ike..and they might be a little sore from the "other reamings" they've been getting, try to be gentle at first with them
If they crayfish.... stick it to them
P.S. your GF "hit her head" on the window, she really needs to get an MRI
she probably hyperextended her neck at the same time
Both of these above mentioned issues are BARGAINING CHIPS.
If the insurance company tried to stonewall or rip you off.
Tell then your GF has a sore neck and has headaches, and at THIS POINT all you want done is get your car squared away.
The longer the ins company drags this out, the longer they leave for your GF to realize she TRUELY was injured.
When Tiffany got rear ended, we used the exact scenario above to get her car fixed, to our satisfaction.. not some insurance adjusters version of "fixed".
