Some people suck! Totaled my Mark : (

I feel bad for you man... My car had 7k in damage. I'm sure if you really wanted to, you could buy the car back super cheap and put it in the garage and fix it. I couldnt let mine go so that is what I did.

Did your car have HID housings?

Jesse, his damage was different than yours. His pillar and quarter and all was damaged where yours was all in the front end. I have an example below of what his might be looking like but his sounds worse. It's something that you wouldn't want to even begin to try fixing. I have this car setting out back if you wanna come get it and haul it back on a trailer.

I hate people who don't drive with insurance, just :q:q:q:qing stupid

in this time some can't afford it and need to get to work,ect... ima have to park my car soon if i can't find a job...wich f'n sucks!!

sorry to hear though.

wow thats horrible, sorry for your loss, but please post what yard its going to if you can find out, im sure there are a couple people on here that could make good use of some of it before it goes to a crusher, sadly most Marks in the yards around here are only in the yard for 2 months before they get sent for smash

Maybe someone close to you can just reimburse you the buy-back fee, then they can take the whole car. Just a thought.

If the exhaust wasn't damaged, it needs to come off too. That's some cash under that car. I might be mistaken but it seems like the original owner paid $700 or better for that complete setup when it was installed.

Okay I'm gonna try to keep up here lol.

Yes Terry my damage is very similar to what you showed pics of. But on the other side and WOW not nearly that bad!

I may have tried to fix it myself for cheap if it was just bolt on front end damage. But I'm not nearly skilled enough to do the cutting, welding, and pulling it would take to get it right and as much as I love that Mark I wouldn't want to drive it as bad as it is cause it would just bum me out.

I asked about the buy back. They wanted $700. I figured that would be way to much labor and shipping to make the money back. As it is I have a rear and driveshaft I just bought that I can't use now that I am probably going to have to ship that heavy ass oversize crap to get my money back.

As for the rare 96 parts I already have a pretty good supply of them courtesy of the previous owner. I will let them go as people need them for realistic prices but I'm not just going to sell them to someone who will just hoard them and jack the price up for a 96 owner that actually needs them lol.

I don't want to sound like I'm bitching I'm just trying to answer everybodys questions lol.

That has been removed already:D Keeping the exhaust was part of my deal with the insurance company. I'm pretty sure I have a buyer for that locally though.

That was just a suggestion in case you bought another Mark but good to know it's at least going to a good cause and not crushed. btw, a Nissan Altima hit that black car and she was still able to drive away. Her airbags didn't even deploy. It was an 07 or 08 Altima. The Mark had to be towed home.

Wow. I have read that our cars are weak when it comes to side impacts. Now I know first hand. The Honda that hit me was driven away also. He hit me pretty solid but when I got out and saw the damage it was definitely alot worse than I expected.

Did you see the pics I added? I did an edit this morning and put them in with the first post.

Thats not that bad of damage from the pictures you have posted. How much is the insurance company giving you for the car?? Hell i bought mine back for 200.00 after i had 5500.00 in damage done to it.

Well as I said above they valued the damage at $3800 plus whatever the suspension damage was going to end up being. They are giving me $6230 mostly because my policy has a provision for reimbursement of customization and I have tons of receipts for the car.

Just did!

I would buy that back. I thought it was going to be worse than that. That's fixable from the pictures I see. The 93 I showed, was beyond repair. Or let me say, not worth it. Yours looks like it wouldn't take much to get back straight.

i would have that car fixed, it can be fixed for less then $3g's easily its a real shame....id take the money they are offering by back the car, get it fixed...parts can be had for cheap as for rear suspension, at worst a control arm or spindle which is a easy swap...you could seriously walk away with $2000 in your pocket and a perfectly fixed car....if shopping around is done to get the repair

I still have the option to buy it back until Tuesday. Thats when the salvage company is scheduled to come pick it up. I may just do it. Right now I just have so much chit to do other than fix this car that it would end up sitting for months before I could even really mess with it.

Agreed....

I would buy it back anyway and part that fugger! Buy back is what? $350-$400? You can part it for at least 5x that. Real Diamond quarter windows? Then painted 10 spokes are my personal favorite for stock wheels. Then all the 96 specific crap! You have a gold.... er diamond mine there!

Lol. The diamond quarter windows and seats are in my garage ; ) The previous owner had swapped those goodies out to save them from wear and tear and possible breakage. So as of now I have them already. The buy back is actually 700  but the more I think about it the more I am leaning toward buying it back. Only downside is I already bought a new vehicle. But at least this way I'll have unlimited time to bring the Mark back to life!

Holy crap! They gave you $7000 for it!? Damn good insurance company! Who is it?

The flip side is they are charging way more then 10% for buy back which isnt the norm and then they suck. State Farm, Geico, USAA, Allstate, Farmers and Progressive have all allowed me to buy back for 10% or less.

They gave me just over 6k for it after my deductible. But that's only because I had customization coverage and an ass load of receipts. I still had to fight with them some though. I'm insured with Nationwide.
