Well, Nick recently did his 02 LS with some Magnaflows (thread here). Today it was my car's turn to get welded on.

2.5" 2 in/2 out muffler, 2.5" mufflers out back with some MagnaFlow tips. We didn't go with any H or X because it sounds pretty good the way it sits now. Maybe in the future I'll throw an X in there.

Video sounds a bit deeper on the computer, but it's got just the right bit of tone to it without being too loud. I was going for something a little subdued after having two LSCs that drone and were a bitch to have a conversation in. Sucks that the car won't let ya rev it like if it had a throttle cable, but hopefully the vid gives you an idea..

Also threw on the KKM True Rev kit and with the exhaust, the car is MUCH more responsive.

Oh, and if anyone local to Ramsey, NJ wants exhaust work done, make sure to PM or email my bud Nick in that first link.

Those Magna-Flows are an x type muffler...you don't need a X.

Looks good.

That particular one did not have a true X in it like one I used when I had my Mark VIII. You can not see an exhaust path cross inside the muffler. Even though exhaust will mix. Must be only a particulas 1 or couple that have the true crosover inside them.

BTW, we ran pipes from the center muffler to the rear of car without rear mufflers and started the car.(wish we took a sound clip) Sounded pretty good. So from my experience with exhaust on these so far you can get 3 tones.

Tommy's exhaust = Quietest
My Exhaust = Mid noise level
Only center dual in/out muffler = Loudest

I would have went loudest but I thought would be too loud. When I had it on my Mark VIII I had it with no cats and it sounded awesome but extremely loud. You would have thought it was a big block Chevelle.

Nice job!

I've had that same set up on our LS for 3 years now and we love it. The Magnaflow center box acts like an H-pipe and a resonator, all in one. The 2 pipes inside the box are perforated with sound deadening material surrounding the parameter. So the exhaust pules blend together inside the box for better sound and performance.

Showoff!;) How do you keep the bottom so clean?!

It's easy Eric..... I cleaned mufflers up before I took the picture and then cleaned up the picture with Photoshop!
:D

Besides.... It never rains or snows here in So. Cal.

On the Magnaflows, yes. Don't know about the stockers. Although I saved the stock tips and could measure it when I get around to it.

The stock mufflers are 2.25" on the inlet and outlet side. You can also get the Magnaflow mufflers in that size as well.

I see, so the exhaust tip and the muffler are the same size therefore requiring the tip to be expanded. Got it.

Muffler part number

Anybody have a part number for the 2.25 Magnaflows?

Nice Bed, Bath and Beyond bag there fruitcake

Nice exhaust man, looks killer.

The stock exhaust inlet and outlets are only 1 7/8" I measured them once the stock mufflers were taken off the car.
