I could'nt take any more and I went and got my car today. On the phone the advisor told me my anti freeze leak was from a seat that is seeping. My exahaust leak is from age. These things did'nt leak when I brought it to them. I'm so upset I'm waiting untill tommorow to get under it to see how they fixed the floor pan and pinch weld. Monday to the muffler shop, then to a radiator shop. Need lots of pics and 2nd opinions for my letter to DMV and Ford. My new quest in life.

I feel your pain brother...3 months ago I wanted to play it 'safe' so I took my Mark to the local Ford dealer for tranny service; $160 they drained and filled trans fluid, nothing else; after i got my car home I noticed my first tranny fluid leak; their response was, "it's got 165k miles, leaks are normal'...they offered to fix it for $1300, then they tried to sell me a new car..never again to the stealer for service

Stealers

In myarea they just changed dealers. The last one did a flush on my 95. I wanted to make sure it had mercon 5. The ser mgr there was a good guy and he gave me a lot of info Now that I get to drive it it seems a little slow to go into gear. Could be me I'll check with the wife she probally would'nt notice any way she's got the 98 and it gets into gear fast. I won't rest till I get just things right. Before I ever go back to a dealer I'll buy another car

Do a J-Mod yourself and all of your gears will engage with quickness, including reverse. Don't let the job be intimidating. A few steel bits and a cordless drill and a place to do the work and you can be done within a couple of hours tops. 8mm and 10mm sockets and a ratchet is needed and a few other tools. Jack and jack stands or ramps. Whatever you trust to be under. You'll also need to order the two correct valve body gaskets and you can get those for about $4 each or less + shipping. When completed, you'll love it. If your accumulators aren't updated, I would do those too. 1-2 and 2-3 and the springs for the 1-2. One is blue and the other is purple.

trans

I had the fluid flushed to be sure it had 5 in it. Trans was new in 99, and I don't think 5 was around yet.It has about 50k on it. It seems it takes a min when I put it into D. Other than that it works like it should.
