Just wanna share a story about this past weekend during that snowstorm in the Northeast. I went to the Penn State football game this past weekend which is like 3 or 4 hours away from here. I still have my summer tires on the LS so the snow on the way was not much fun. Almost took her in a ditch on the highway which was scary. You would think a big school like PSU would have nice paved parking lots... yeah right I had to park in the middle of a field on a big hill. I knew it was gonna be fun leaving the game lol. Long story short I had my friend drive and I had to push the car through the mud and snow. Great times! Idk why anyone hasn't tried to take their LS's mudding haha

It surprised me that's for sure. Some parts in the far northeast I heard got a foot or or more.

Yeah I grew up in Maine. Not very common to have snow this early. According to a news report last night parts of NH got like 30 inches. Most people in New England got over a foot. 12 inches is a good storm, 30 is insane; and in October?

It's actually easier to get heavier snowfalls from "early" winter storms or "late" winter storms.
If you look @ epic storms based on snowfall, most of them are into spring or October/November.
This is because temperatures are closer to freezing rather than well below, which results in the air being able to hold more moisture. Ever had a snowstorm when it is 10F or lower? The snow is usually dry (compacts easier) and vice-verse for heavier wet snows that stack up easily.

A lot of the damage was due to the heavy weight of the wet snow on the leaves of the trees bc the leaves havent all fallen off yet. Too much weight caused over 1000 reported trees to fall over I heard.

Yup, I live in the Green Mountain State and we have snow in higher elevations, luckily I don't live in the mountains. I will probably be putting the stock wheels with my winter tires on next weekend. Good bye Sentas :Bang.

Ohhhh I love snow! I saw parts of the game and I'm so ready for cooler weather. Unfortunately I also still have my summer wheels and tires on. Looks like I'll be going to tire city this week or next for a switch up.

The game was freezing cold but amazing bc they won in the last couple minutes. Snow is great for football season, but I really am not looking forward to it for driving in.

We will see in the next few weeks playing Wisconsin and that school from Ohio on the road. In hopes that UofM wins out, they'd still need an MSU loss. No such thing as a sure win though so we shall see. The B1G race is crazy, surprised that the conference split has been this exciting. Makes it feel like every week is a playoff game

I'd hope so. The field is bigger, and bigger is better lol
got 18" or so here. I was swapping out my summer tires as it started (BOOOOOOOO). A short while later, you could just hear trees snapping left and right. Lost power late Saturday and just got it back on after work tonight. Not fun with a 1yr old!

We got 8 inches here of heavy wet snow, power was out (for us) for 3 days, others a week or more, this past weekend was spent removing tree limbs (the size of little trees some 8 inches in diameter) out of the yard. didn't realize how many posts happened here is such a short amount of time. Now we're in the 60's during the day, and high 20's low 30's at night.
