SNL makes incest joke about Palin

Face it. The skit was mean-spirited and was not intended to be funny. It was just a cheap shot on a woman, ripping on her husband because he is more of a man than anybody could find in New York City with a population of 10 million. Picking on her kids when the Messiah pleaded with the media to keep the kids out of it is a disgrace.

I disagree, it was intended to be funny as humor is subjective; you're absolutely right about it being both mean-spirited and cheap though. I can't comment on the guy's manliness, don't know the dude.

I will agree with that statement.

Especially in this forum, it is very easy for people to lose their sense of humor and take things too seriously. At that point ego's get offended and it can turn into a pissing contest.

I know I've been guilty of that a few times...

+1..... I have been guilty more then once.

Easy to do. We all have different beliefs not wrong just different.

Cabriolo, in what decade wasn't SNL 'overtly political?' If I watch SNL I expect certain things - but I don't expect political correctness.

I agree. Political humor has always been a mainstay of SNL.
And, it's always been tremendously left leaning.

Mind you, I don't mind political humor from the leftist or rightist perspective. Nor do I mind news organizations that are overwhelmingly liberal and biased. I take issue only with their continued efforts to convince the public that they don't have an agenda and are fair.

That too is the failure of the "fairness doctrine" as well. Somehow, conservative speech is inherently political, yet some how over liberalism is considered fair and unregulated. Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather, it's difficult to find two more passionate ideologues.

It does sound funny to me - I'll have to find it on line... the Obama 8-track thing.
Actually the bit wasn't funny or clever. Sadly, even the incest bit was more entertaining.

Oh, Happy B'day!!!!!:)
Thank you.

"As far as whining and moaning, you do enough of that already outside of this forum."

Exactly. He's pointing out that you came in here spraying your "lighten up" schtick around when you have no room to talk. In other words, you fit in here, so quit acting like you're above everybody else.

lol above everyone else? im sorry i just dont get all pissed off at tv like you guys, that doesnt make me above anyone, it just says there are more important things in life to worry about than the skits that lorne michaels comes up with. if saturday night live offends you, dont watch it.

If it only went as far as SNL, that would be one thing. But the MSM has to pick it up and blather it all over the place.

"DID YOU HEAR THE SNL SKIT WHERE THEY SAY THAT PALIN'S HUSBAND HAS BEEN DOING THE DOGGIE ON THE KIDS". This is what they do again and again. There has to be no truth in it for them to report it. It only has to hurt Conservatives and Republicans and then all is good.

They never retract and if they do, it is one line like Fossten says on Page 25.

You do realize that a show like SNL or the Daily Show has more political influence and it teaches more people every week than any political scientist or columnist?

Culture isn't moved based on one event, it's the subtle, consistent, and often unconscious, affirmation and reinforcement of an idea by popular culture shows exactly like this.

Exactly! {Note to self - bookmark this page and refer Calabrio (see I can spell it!!) again and again when trying to make the point that the liberal leaning press has left us as a liberal 'majority' nation}

Hence Polls show that more Americans blame the Republicans for the mortgage mess when the Democrats are equally, or I would argue, more culpable.

I'm getting so sick of this. Back is front, black is white, up is down, lies are truth, truth is omitted.

It's fast getting to the point where only bullets will solve this problem.

About 6 lbs. Lots of recoil - but they have done this gel insert that really works.

My Saiga's recoil is no joke either. I have to use a shoulder pad to prevent bruising.
