Looks like a good deal. Shoot I payed 600 for my rot box 97. At least I made 400 in pocket on her and got to keep engine and trans. Good luck with her.

Nice, I guess you already figured out which ones going to be summer and winter car...

the lsc is the daily, chassis kit is coming for the white one... :D gonna be looking for a little ranger or something so im not driving either of them for the winter.. salt kills stuff on these things.

one question i do have though, would a trans from a 94, work in the 97? white one has a smoked trans in it, curious to see how the car drives and stuff before i hack her up..

Not a bad idea, I just thought since reddy was already getting the big C that it would be used as the winter beater.;)

planning on using all the old that comes off the white one in the red one.. gives me what i want, a nice lsc and a kick a$$ dragster. im kind of looking at it as a win win situation LOL

Yes, it will bolt right in and plug right up. 93-97 will all interchange without any problems.

It will bolt in but will not be plug and play. Different pin outs in the 97-98's You can change internal harness/soloniods or repin connector.

That's why I never mentioned a 98. I said 93-97 and I know about the 98's. I installed one in a 94 by swapping out electrical internals. He asked about a 94 and 97. Again, it will be plug and play.

I just swapped a 1997 tranny from a Bird Sport into my 1995 Bird and had to swap the TCC solenoid, IIRC. Those solenoids changed around 1995 from a low impedance to a high impedance model. So it's not TOTALLY plug-and-play as I believe this change was ANY 4R70W tranny for those years. It's easy enough to check when you have them out, just use an ohm meter and check the solenoid (that's what I did and saw they were different). Just swap the solenoid from your original tranny into the earlier model. The connector is the same, but that solenoid is different resistance.

DON'T JUST SWAP TRANNYS!!! I've heard of people burning up their EEC's by doing that (since the 97 uses the high resistance and the 94 uses a low-resistance).

Remember when I asked you about the EEC, NoLimit95 because I was afraid of running into that issue again, but I guess 93-95 was the same solenoid for the Mark VIII.

I'm going to have a headache when it's time to change trannys.

So all said and done, for a direct swap I could only use a 96 or 97, for a 93-95 i'd have to swap solenoids/internal harness, and 98+/gt tranny's require only a repin and or solenoid swap...

Do I gots it?

You're over-complicating it. You have a 97 car you want to put a 94 tranny in, right? Just check the TCC solenoid to be sure it's the right impedance. Somewhere in 96-97, Ford changed to the high-impedance solenoid. That's the change, get it? In 98, the connector changed. These trannys changed over the years like everything else.

I'm not the op and my tranny is fine, I just wanted to understand it better for when its time comes. ;)

thanks guys, ill be doing the swap sometime in the next week or so hopefully, will post pics of everything.. the underside of this white mark is really clean, exhaust is kind of ugly but other than that its really clean, talk to you guys soon... thanks again!

It looks nice. I have a 97 transmission in my 93.

thanks! got big plans for it, soon enough will be coming in the garage to have some fun with it. trans is going in it sunday though and will get some good pics of the underside and post em!

I had bought a Dirty Dog Valve body for the 93. Alan at DD told my brother Barry how to install it into the 97 transmission. So the 97 is not a direct replacement but can be done.

guess we will just wait and see what happens, if i run into problems i run into problems, everything is there though so i should just be able to swap some stuff out from the 97 to the 94 trans.
