The LS uses a PCM that you can think of as a little computer. The only way to change the way it operates is to change it's program - which the SCT products allow you to do. Tuner create new, different programs and you upload them to the PCM.
Most of these 'chips' are nothing more than and IAT (intake air temperature) trick - where they replace your IAT sensor with a resistor - fooling the PCM to think it's -40 degrees outside - and therefore overfueling. the thought is more fuel = more power.
That use to work in the 80's - not now. there are many threads on people trying these things and getting a CEL with a 'bad IAT' code in a few days. The PCM figures it out that the temperature has not changed and start to guess at the 'real' temperature using other sensors and inputs.
I have not seen this one in particular - so take this as general info. As far as I know - there is no way other than re-programming to alter the PCM behavior.
