Well I have been searching for a few hours tonight and learned alot. I told myself I would leave the chameleon alone. But you know how us damn ADD kids are. I read that the rayswitches have been failing and I read that the module 8 can make the check airride light come on. I didn't read anything bad about the Asham8 though. I also noticed somewhere along the line that chicken is running twin compressors. I haven't researched that yet though. If someone would like to talk or share a link to that though I would appreciate it.

But what I am wondering is which is the best I figured lets ask the experts, cant hurt? Well it might around here you never know.:D Share your experiences please. I am seriosly contemplating some 18 inch torque thrusts and it wouldn't look right unless I could slam it at shows.TIA:cool:

I never, even liked Ray's switch. Its not a practical setup for a daily drive, its for show. The Module8 and Asham are more for daily driving and adjustments. Its try that if you adjust the Module8 way out of range it can trip the air ride because the adjustment is too far and the computer thinks a sensor went bad or something. But generally if you are driving partially lowered and them slam it before you get out to it vent when in park you are fine - ive done it lots. But if you are riding high and want to slam it its best to lower it half way, wait for it to adjust, then lower it the rest.

So personally I would rather have the two options that allow adjustments on the fly without loosing automatic leveling and highway lowering.

I have an asham8, just don't go from one extreme to the other too fast, let it adjust then move it again.

The pic in my sig is pretty much as low as it can go unless you adjust the pot that is for leveling the rear with the front then it will tuck the back a bit

its funny every time the rays switch comes up i post almost immediately after unity, nothing personal man just funny lol. ive had a rays switch since 05~ish (i got it from ray) never had any problems i also didnt use the scotch locks to tap into the system dunno. if all you want is to slam in a lot than go rays switch (sorry unity lol) yes im running twin compressors, but first thing you have to understand is it is in no way a fast system. with a single compressor it took about 85-90 sec to filt back to ride height from a full drop, and with the twins i got it down to about 45, lets see where did i put that................
here we go http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=43287

module 8 ftw, although my cars are sensor lowered now. I sold my car with the module 8, but i would buy another one again in a heartbeat!

So where did you mount the controll pannel?

I am getting worried cause he said he shipped mine 2/1/10 and it still isnt here. :(

mine also took a while to arrive, had to go through customs and all of that

I keep it in the glove box, I like to put my phone in my ash tray.

So chicken the Ray switch kit comes or came with scotch locks and is most likely the cause of the issues most are having 3-4 years down the road huh. Just say no to scotch locks. I would solder and heatshrink everything anyways. Always have always will. Does the rayswitch also mount in the ashtryay? TIA

I'm impatient, but I've always thought it would be much easier to add a tank when using any of those switches. A second compressor and a valve wouldn't be too hard to install, you wouldn't have to wait to get the car back up..

Maybe it would confuse the factory air ride moving that fast though?

Like, give it a good head start inflating the bags, and then allow the factory air ride take over to adjust height..

Feel free to pick at me here. Theory and reality are often two different things.

I believe a fastbag setup would be abusive to the system. And I could not put a tank in the car it would take away from me staying somewhat stock.

it is possible to use a tank and a control valve to find the right speed before it errors

I see this occassionaly where people freak out the airride system. What causes this with each different module? And do any throw the light just being installed? I have read alot but would have to go through and write it all on each module. Then compare it. If I could get a few user based answers it would be much appreciated. I want to do this to the chamelion but I don't want to ruin the alignment either I am looking for a good drop and easily being able to get back to the perfect aligned position. Easy enough for the wife to do. Although she is quite inclined, well very.

Well I just installed my Ray this weekend and it took a day or two to figure it out (I'm pretty slow sometimes) It installs easy and works great.
It is slow but its noticable when watching it. It pumps right back up, in 60-90 seconds depending on where your height sensors are. I really like mine, I dont think its only for show like someone said, I use mine while parked and it pumps up as Im buckling up and by the time im out of my parking spot its up.

As for ease of use, it doesnt get much easier than the Ray switch. you can even flip the second switch and turn it off if your wife doesnt want to "show off" everywhere she parks and it acts like stock.

I get an air ride message as I hit the switch but its only for a second, kinda lets ya know your going down.

You can stop it half way down and lift it back up if you change your mind or whatever.

I've only had it for 3 days, but I Love it!

Ya, you just pinch it together and it cuts through the coating and attackes itself to the wire like magic! I could have soldered it, but I suck and it would have never worked afterwards.
I know they are supossed to suck after a year or two , right?

the only problem i had was i installed the switch upside down, couldnt get it to drop when i pushed it down lol. mine came with scotch locks and i think 96hotrodlincoln's version does too. i just cut a small hole in the center counsel for the switch

id say that would be too quick. mine with just 2 compressors is too quick for the stock computer, she will lift up then vent, also have a bigger vent valve, she will cycle a few times before it stabilizes (not drastic but i can tell)

And do any throw the light just being installed?

it will say check air ride when you flip the switch, but till you hit it the computer wont even know its there

id reccomend sensor lowering it than aligning it (lowering it will ease the strain on the compressor somewhat) the switch will bring it back to the "lowered" height. your wife will have to flip the switch when she gets out and when shes ready to leave just start the car and wait a minute or so

sounds like you got a healthy system the speed sounds about right

this makes yours sound like it drops automatically, the second switch is for when the battery gets jumped/recharged the vent wont open
