Sigh.. Something wrong with my engine. Please help asap!!

Didn't want to make a new thread, is the degas cap part number "8100"? I got the engine fill cap, and upper/lower radiator hoses but want to make sure I order the correct part for the degas cap.

Yes.

Hoses and caps arrived today. After I install these, the entire cooling system will be brand new. However on a side note... I decided to pop the hood and compare the new degas cap to the old one. The old cap clicks tight with hardly any pressure or force. Maybe a single ft/lb? Whereas the new one needs some real force before it will click. Maybe 10 ft/lbs. Whether those numbers are accurate or not, point is the new cap tightens down very considerably more prior to clicking than the old cap. That combined with the fact that the rubber seal on the old cap is indented from the degas tank, I have a feeling that my problem has been in a cap that couldn't hold pressure.

I'm still going to install the hoses and engine fill cap, but I think I've found the culprit.

Yup it was a bad degas cap. The tension spring for torque must have been shot so it couldn't tighten down enough to maintain pressure.

Might just hang onto the hoses for a while and save them for a day I need to get away from wifey lol. God bless guys.

Oh, and on the way home from droppin' off starbucks to my wife, I ate an evo8 from a 45sh roll. Dropped to third with sst and waited for him to go and as soon as he got on it I smashed and dusted him. A good 3 to 4 car lengths up to 95 then I let off. Feels good, lovin' my LS.

sounds like he needs to take his car to the shop and get it fixed...
