Seriously?

Maybe the door was junk anyway?

If it wasn't, oh well, he ruined a saleable door.

Even IF the door was junk, it's just 2 nuts! It seems to me like it would have been a lot easier just to unbolt it then to do this craziness.

Dunno? I found removing the door handle to be THE most difficult job to date on my Mark - I even broke the piece that goes on the back of the lock cylinder and had to glue it back together.

I give you that the lock cylinder tab thing (?) is usually a big pain in the butt, but it's got to be easier than cutting the whole thing out.
I've got to say, I've had much more difficult jobs on my Marks. Either you don't do very much work to your car, or you've got some special quality that I don't! :D :p

Nope. I've never worked on my car, much. I know nothing.

I just believe that cutting is quicker and easier than taking a door panel off and wrestling with rods and clips in a very right space.

With the right cutting tool, you could have that handle out in 2 minutes. To each his own...

I guess? Although I have no first hand experience with one of those. I was thinking more along the lines of a pneumatically powered cut-off wheel.

you should try it out one day Blue...it'll make you forget cutting with a die grinder completely

Yeah, I'll look into getting one, one day. I was always put off by their high price, but I see they are much more affordable now.

The next garage tool I want is a TIG welder. Really want to learn to weld, so I can fabricate my own exhaust and do other useful things. (I'd also like to fabricate a tool which will allow me to tip my car onto it's side)

The nice thin about Tig welders Martin is they are very easily converted to a stick welder with the adition of just the cable lead...

Have ac/dc stick welding capabilities and tig welding abilities will allow you to do EVERYTHING you could ever want, Mig welders are really just more for speed...

Yup, plus I heard it's the most accurate and easy type of welding.

Accurate Yes... Easy NO...

The difficulty increases ten fold when you start welding non ferrous metals...

Ah, ok. I'll look to get a decent TIG welder, next year. Then, I can start practicing and make a mess! :D
