yeah,california sucks. It passed visual inspection, and the sniffer, but the stupid evap test is what got me.
Two years ago it was fine, so something has changed, and now i gotta find/fix it before i can sell it to my buyer.
i was wondering if anyone knew how to find leaks? or where to start looking, or if anyone has had this problem?
I dont really want to pay $100 for a smoke machine test, though it will probably be the fastest way of pinpointing the leak...i just dont really want to spend much on the car, as im only getting $1200 for it.
I dont even know what the evap test is really. They crimp the hose before the charcoal canister and pressurize the gas tank and measure the loss in pressure? Thats it? So it can be a leak anywhere between the filler tube, and the charcoal canister?
