I have searched and read the same thing over and over again and everyone seems to agree that the Xcal 2 is the way to go. Why?

What else should I be looking for if anything. I see a couple on Ebay right now for Ford vehicles, is that all I need?

for the mark 8, the x-2 IS the way to go.
sadly new units have been out of production for a couple of years.

be aware that more times than not, x2's on ebay are locked...to the previously tuned car.

sure!!
its simple...
plug the device into the vehicle its married to, the press retun to stock
then the device can be unmarried.

otherwise you have to send it to sct, pay shipping both ways, then buy tunes for your vehicle and pay sct 150.00 to unlock.

Sniper works well also with the marks. If you only want a basic tuner its hard to beat. The x-cal is nice but it takes someone to make tunes for you after you buy the hand held even if the its unlocked. You buy the sniper and make your own tune. No need to spend more money. Most say the x-cal but Sh!t the sniper works well cut the ET down.

Wait any minute XLR will chime in. Yes if you want to buy the pro racer package for the x-cal you can be a full race tuner but really if your asking your not that far into it. Sniper is the way to go for a noob. Buy it Make your own and role. No need to buy more tunes and software.
