SCT Chip flash/reburn help???

Does anyone know anyone that can flash my SCT chip to a '94 lincoln. I want all the options done correctly. I have some mods but nothin major like the differential or supercharger.
I have screemin demon ignition and live wire spark wires. True dual 2.5" exhaust with 1 x pipe and quad tips.
I just want to get my car running better to do a few tweaks before I go dyno. I think modifying my exhaust made my computer get bad readings from O2 sensors and the IMRCs are acting up.
Anyway, please let me know if anyone can help me. I don't want to spend too much but I would be willing to go in the $50-$100. Anything more I'd have to maybe go ahead and just get the DYNO guy to do it all for $300.
I got this chip used and it is currently programmed to a 88-91 Mustang.


Change spark to use premium gas and gain more power
Adjust commanded Air/Fuel ratio for more power
Transmission Shift points altered
Transmission Shifts firmed up
Torque reduction decreased during shifts
Torque converter lockup changes
Ability to eliminate rear O2 settings for aftermarket exhaust on ODB-II Cars
Boost bypass reduced or eliminated during shifts
Shift light raised or removed
Rev Limiter removed
Speed limiter removed
Electric fan settings adjusted
Adaptive learning optimized for better economy and drivability
Knock sensor threshold adjusted on cars equipped with knock sensors
Octane pin can be setup to compensate for race gas when removed
EGR disabled
Chip can be programmed for different injectors or a different MAF
Idle in Neutral and Drive adjusted
IMRC Control, can be deleted or adjusted on cars that have IMRC:cool:
 
If your car is not running correctly now tuning it will not FIX the problem...

The mods you have done will not mess up anything that would make an otherwise good running car run poorly.... also before you even think about putting a tune on that car go through it and do a full tune up, put in some copper plugs, I like the 22c's, a 180 or 160 degree tstat, fix all the vacuum leaks, and put in a new fuel pump, most use a walboro 255.

The last part about the fuel pump cannot be stressed enough... I wouldn't touch your car with a 20 foot pole until you chunked a pump into it...

Oh yeah I forgot to mention I have that fuel pump too.
And yeah I will try new plugs.
I have this mean @$$ knock or popping sound in my exhaust. I don't know if its a leak issue or clogged mufflers or bad air/fuel mix. I thought the chip would get rid of the air/fuel mix being a problem. Also if the IMRC's are causing the problem. Or bad O2 readings or EGR. I have done an EGR tube replacement because I had the engine stutter and found there was a major leak there. But after repairing that leak, the popping is still there.
I took out my cats and looked inside and the honeycomb is completely gone. So, I might even have clogged mufflers. Wanna do the chip first though.

But yeah, can anyone help with a good flash of this SCT chip?
 
Your cats beign compeltley hosed is a big issue...

You really need to fix the things that are broken on your car first, THEN tune it... you aren't going to tune it into running correctly...

I feel bad for whoever tunes your car if you don't fix it first, cause it isn't going to run better and then you are gonna call the tuner and blame him and his tune for your car not running right... lol
 
SCT chip

Yeah, i took out the bad cats already. I have a system where I can swap between straight thru pipes and cats. flanges are set up. So i put my straight pipes in and the popping is still there. Makes me think the mufflers might be clogged from the fragments goin downstream. Really I just want someone to take my computer code and flash the SCT chip for me rather than tuning it right now. I know tuning it right now would be stupid. I just need a general flash of this chip. I need to eliminate the O2 and IMRC and EGR circuits to be sure where my problems are coming from.

KustomizingKid is giving you good information.
You need to address the issues with your car before you tune it.
removing the 02's and EGR and IMRC's are going to create more issues involving the proper operation of your vehicle.

when you remove the 02's, the PCM loses the ability to control the AF.
Which will compound, not resolve your issues

Removing EGR will make your car less spark tolerant and will affect driveabiltiy and will compound the problems rather than resolve them.

Since the IMRC's are vacuum controlled, the PCM doesnt even have a clue that they exist on your car, so again.... removing them is not going to resolve any issues, and will only compound problems and make your car run like crap.

It'd take about 5 minutes for me to burn a file to your chip... probably less.
but I would not touch this tune for all the tea in china.

That is not what tuning is about.
Tuning is optimizing a combination, not "fixing potential problem areas" that should be addressed by proper and consistant maintenance.

Do yourself a favor.. do it right.
dont just try to find someone that "will do it" they way you dictate.

at no time should the car owner dictate to the tuner, you need to listen and implement what the tuner tells you.

If you find someone that will "do it" like you are asking, you should RUN and find someone else.

Ok, in the first part of this your ask for a "general flash", and the second part of this you are asking for a CUSTOM tune.

which do you want?

YOu can easily do this yourself....
it's very easy.

call them up, tell them you need the software and a chip burner and you already havea chip..(you'll save 200ish dollars)

software is 329.00, the chip burner is 450.00

Then you can turn off/delete your 02's IMRC's and EGR in a very short time.

it's "point click stupid easy"..but IT AINT CHEAP.
 
Ok Ok

OK, I will try and correct these issues first. I was just told by other guy more mechanically inclined than myself that said my car must be having issues with computer programming because I corrected the bad EGR and the bad cat conv. So they suggested I get the settings changed on the computer using a chip. Mainly because I have a much bigger exhaust than stock so the car runs bad. He said guys that mod their harleys with bigger pipes have the same problem and they need to adjust the lean level of the a/f ratio. But, I will try and get it running better stock first. unless you move the location of the primary 02 sensors then there is no tuning changes for "larger exhaust".

Larger exhaust doest not affect your AF ratio.
The AF ratio is already "DONE" by the time it enters the exhaust pipe.

Granted some combustion does still occur in the cats and the pipe but the above statement still applies and is true and correct.

If you replaced the EGR valve due to a "low egr flow" engine code, then you probably need to change the EGR sensor/DPFE module.

if that doesnt fix the problem then the passages in the intake are likely clogged with carbon and need to be clean.
 
EGR followup

Well actually I replaced the EGR tube/Pipe. I had that old whack one that breaks when you do transmission work. You know the one with the flex pipe. Replaced only that. Should I replace the other EGR components you suggested too?

Also, I took your advice on checking the intake. The butterfly flapper deals in the throttle body, the left side doesn't open when throttled. Is it supposed to? I sprayed throttle body cleaner into it and it still won't open. Do I need to take the throttle body off and clean it?

The 93-96 throttle body is of a progressive design, both throttle plates dont open at the same time..but both do reach WOT at the same time.
One opens a good deal earlier than the other....just FYI

well I broke the baby food spoon handle, so I got some super glue to fix it and in the process I glued the damn spoon to my hand... so..I'm stuck with it..for the rest of the week.
 
Check the simple things like arcing plug wires. I would run some seafoam through a vacuum line and some in the tank as well as new plugs and wires and then see if it has the same symptoms.

Oh man, yeah so I ran Seafoam through the gas tank and wow. My car finally runs well again. no more 500RPM idle. I'm at about 800 now. And my acceleration doesn't stutter. Thanks alot. I never knew you could run it through the gas tank. I only ran it through the PCV. My co-worker also suggested to run it through the OIL before I do my next oil change.

Ok, well now that my acceleration is back, who will flash my SCT chip? And, how much would you charge me?

My local SCT guy wants $300 and $50 to install.

I called him and he said he owned a '96 Mark VIII. I would like to just tune it with him but he wants alot of money. I figured a flash would be beneficial and save me money. Let me know what you guys think please.
