Hey quick question of relevance. Does a 2nd gen mirror fit a first gen?

I know a Gen I mirror will fit a Gen II. How? Because I have seen it when i test drove a Mark VIII when I was looking at them.

from what i understand they wont. but ive never had a first hand experience like mark0101.

As far as I have seen, you can put Gen II mirrors on a Gen I for sure, as for Gen I on Gen II, see above - if he say them, then yes.

The only problem with the Gen II on Gen I fit is wiring, you have to get creative if you want to use the blinkers and puddle lights.

When i lived in Champaign, IL (near Danville) I called bill smiths numerous times about mark viii parts and they never even had one car on site. Maybe i should take a drive and see what else is saveable from that car. Maybe ill come home with the whole car. lol.

he's only got one gen2 thats in ok shape. its not drivable though he's trying to sell the engine.
