Savagecat's Progress Thread

Yeah I'm jeealous but seeing what yours put out means that mine must not be as low as I thought. Was that with the 3.6" or 3.33" pulley.

Stock one from vortech. I believe 3.8, but you I will be changing that when all is done 3.33!

3.6" is what I had at first which I believe is stock and mine put out 6.5PSI and it made 311hp and 269ftlbs, now I have the 3.33" pulley and it put out 7.7PSI but probably a little more now since I changed the belt and got rid of the belt slip and it put down 312hp and 285ftlbs, thats with the stock manifold that I attempted to port and polish myself so I don't know if that did any good it came out alright. Now I think I should have made a little more HP so I'm questioning the tune which is why I'm going to go to a different tuner when I get the methanol all fixed. I really want to see HP in the 330's and torque in the 300's. If your put out pretty much what mine did with the cobra intake I don't even know if I want waste my time swapping it out, I know it looks sick but I'm very lazy.

So I took my car out on the highway yeaterday to see what it was putting out for boost now with the new belt, I drove up a few exits and then looped back around and when I got off the highway I noticed I was over heating so I instantly new what it was so I pulled over and opened the the hood sure enough the watrerpump came unplugged from the relay I was thinking about rapping a ziptie around it the other day too cause it seemed loose, so I let it cool down and then I drove away half mile down the road its starts overheated again so I pulled over and sat there for like 20 minutes, went to start it and it wouldn't start so now I was worried I figured I'd sit there for another 10 minutes and let it cool down some more and if it didn't start I would call a tow truck. Luckily it started and I drove home started to over heat agian by the time I got home, I must have been overheating on the highway and not noticed I smelt the anitfreeze earlier too and didn't think anything of it. So today I opened up the plug on the crossover tube and filled it up it took like a gallon and a half of anit freeze then I zptied the plug to the relay and now its running great again.

I almost forgot I think I have some other problem and the only think I can think of that it would be is belt slip, I would go wide open throttle at like 60 the car would shift to 2nd gear take off then when it got to like 5500rpm it would get up to 6psi and then it fealt like it shifted but slowed down a little and then shift again but it didn't drop more than a couple hundred rpm's, so I'm thinking the belt was slipping and then it grabbed again. I don't know I was a little confused.

I honostly don't know if it had been doing I never noticed but I really haven't driven it much in the last year.
