Satin Nickel Painted Console (Pics Inside)

Crackerjack I think that is the normal shifter without SST. Same as mine - 2000 V8. But yeah, I love it and am planning to do this as well as painting a few extra peices while also painting the woodgrain to body color. Buying extra pieces so if I don't like it I can keep the stock look. :D

You should do it
It makes a big differences

I feel bad because I didn't take pictures during the process. BUT i will make a write up if you would like.

Cool, no worries. Just a short explanation of what you did to prep, what grits you sanded with and the paint products you used will do, thanks.

Products Needed:
1 Can of Satin Nickel Spray Paint Valspar ( Lowes ) $4.00
1 Can of Plastic Primer Valspar ( Lowes ) $4.00
1 Pack 600 Grit sand Paper ( Lowes ) "some people use a higher number grit but this worked for me"

are you familiar with removing your radio?

Thanks, YUNGDEW. It's ok, I don't own an LS, but I do own a Mark VIII that needs various parts re-painting. I'm always curious as to what grits / primers / paints people use, as I've had limited success with some 'spray bombs' in the past.

for a decent finish never use more than like a 400 grit. Keeping high grit keeps it very smooth and takes the minimum amount off that is needed for maximum effect.

I might try this out on some spare pieces or something.
