Yesterday I sold my 94 MK VIII to a young fellow that had just totalled his 96 with a deer encounter. I really had mixed feelings watching him leave in that car, I really had a blast hot dogging that car. I would like to thank all you guys for all the tech info and advice on what it takes to keep one of these cars running over the years. I've always been a Mopar man at heart(I guess you can tell from my name) so I guess its time to get the Belvedere out of the mothballs and give it the attention it deserves. Thanks again for all the help you guys.......

Sad
Hopefully the belvedere will tell you it wants a mark viii stablemate :)
Could we have a couple pics of both cars.

Wow, I had no idea you Mark VIII guys would like to see an old Mopar. Gonna get her out of the basement this weekend and knock about 4 years worth of dust off of it. I will try to post some pics, just remember she's a "work in progress" IE:in primer.

I used to be a big mopar fan til I realized id never own a '71 Hemi Cuda 4spd w/ pistol grip, console and rimblow steering wheel.... and realized mustangs were an easier goal. But I had a '74 Scamp for a while.

I gave up on the hemi dream too, Looks like an indy cylinder headed wedge in the Belvy. Just can't justify 20K for a hemi right now. I am sticking to my guns on the 4-speed though, Gonna talk to Jerico transmissions in Charlotte about a gearbox.

I has a hemi once, actually twice. I had a Humber Super Snipe with a 4 cly hemi.

I took my 57 Belvedere wagon from Kingston Ontario to Ontario California where she tossed her cookies. I fell in with wreckers and ended up putting in a Firedome V8 hemi out of a 54 Desoto I think. I was 19 and barely knew how to change the oil and this very cool bunch of guys at the wreaking yard, I was never sure exactly who actually worked there, got me through not one but two engine swaps, cracked block on the first one, and I drove back to Canada with my hemi charger station wagon.

I have no idea who would ever want a Hemi.
Let alone a Desoto.
:D

Good luck Hemihed426.
