how much rms does the factory alpine in dash 6 cd have, and would it sound better with aftermarket deck and speakers, say a deck that is 50x4.

The Alpine 6 CD in-dash:
180watt head unit
12speakers
85watt subwoofer
2 subs

I have upgraded:
- four door speakers
- two console speakers
- 1000w rear amp
- 2 x 12" sub woofers

very happy with the sound using the stock head - but it's a very personal opinion.

I'd stick with the stock HU. Almost all HU's list 50x4 (peak), most are around 13-18 RMS.
