RIP Lincoln

How could they?

Do they really think that will sell? Its ugly. Looks like an very old man's car, even he would think its ugly. I would rather drive an old towncar or Cad CTS, or even an old merc, than that thing. UGLY

And sadly both of those mazdas look better.

Ive been in both a mazda3 and mazda 6 and they are actually really nice vehicles.

You can even get a fully loaded mazdaspeed 6 with leather interior, sunroof, premium sound, projector hid's, and turbo pushing almost 300hp from a 6 cylinder.

Only problem is again fwd. But i would rock a mazda 6 as a second vehicle anyday.

That's what happens when they get rid of the German (Helmut Schrader) who designed the LS.

I will never own another Lincoln again that's for sure. They are becoming soulless and extremely unattractive vehicles as the time goes on. And the bad part is, it will stay on this path for a loooong time, until one of their executives wakes up and does a house clean up.

And, about the Jag....they carried over S type platform, some of drivetrain to the XF, so it will have little bit of LS in it. You won't be completely leaving the LS, even if you see it off.

Yeah, the grills seem to be the worst part of evey Lincoln for the last few years! And on top of that, every Lincoln is a warmed over Ford with the Fords having a better exterior design. The new Fusion has the Lincoln beat in looks for sure.
 
They just need to fire all the Lincoln engineers... this is ridiculous. Also, why is there no Lincoln version of the Mustang?

i was also thinking WTF when i saw this on the front page of LVC, i was doing some research hoping it doesnt go into production!

that grill is HORRENDOUS, and those headlights suffers from myopia
gotta agree with previous posters that the new jags are rocking
they look like luxury exotics, while that lincoln looks like a cheap hooker

Can Ford just hire a German again. This is what happens when you put desk jockeys in front of a computer. The flow is horrible across the lines of the car. The tail end looks great, but needs to be set way lower. Chop and channel, with a grill adjustment and lowered. Then the car may have appeal.
 
I wonder what demographic this car is intended for? It's probably going to drive like an under-performing "modern" boat. Certainly too hip for the older demographic, and the youngsters will likely opt to purchase a German alternative. I don't see why I would go with this car, over a 3 Series, A4, etc..

actually both the Mazdaspeed 3's and 6's are 4 cylinders, 2.3 direct injection DOHC

Whoops yeah thats what i meant.

All that power out of 4 cylinders. I looked at them closely before buying the LS.
 
It's a pretty nice looking car (new MKZ). Compared to the Lexus' and Caddilac's of the world I like it. Compared to an LS I don't like it except for the rear end. I agree the new Fusion looks fantastic, better than this car for sure.

Why do we care though? This car is not for us/never has been for us. This isn't a new car, it's a refresh of a car that's been out for longer than our LS' lived in production. We knew what it was going to be before it left the drawing board.

i have driven both, i could not stand the 3, the torque steer was insane. The 6 having AWD does help the balance out a fair amount, but it was still a little nose heavy, but i might be able to deal with that because of the amount of aftermarket support get them up in power output pretty quick, not to mention everything about it screams over engineered like the water cooled diffs.
 
It looks like an older Lexus design, and I agree with all those who feel the grille is hideous. After 2 generations of the fish grille, you'd think they'd realize that it's really not helping the brand image.
 
This is what happens when you have an Australian design American Luxury cars. I must the say the retractable roof is kinda cool though.

FPV has some badass vehicles. I really have no clue what is going on. Ford isnt even trying. LS to me is the closest they have come to having a performance Lincoln that can compete with other luxury cars. But they fell asleep and now we get to enjoy them for a quarter of the price.

Cadillac is so far ahead and Lincoln is just waddling along like a penguin.
 
Lincoln should be competing with Cadillac, Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar, etc in my opinion. Now they are competing with Buick, Acura and Infiniti. It's a shame. I predict Lincoln will be done in a few years. They've been having low sales and the cars keep getting worse and worse.

Infiniti makes rwd V8 cars. Lincoln has nothing on them. Buick is basically the only competition and Acura is just a fancy Honda. I don't consider them true luxury until they get rwd and 8 cylinders.
 
Well I hate the way Infinitis looks inside and out. They look like cheap economy cars.
