Put these in the other day with the help of NickT88LSC. First off, what a pain in the balls to get this gauge cluster out. Holy crap. Not hard, but way more crap to get out of the way than any other car I've messed with.
As you can see from the pictures, we had to make the holes around the speedo and tach needle bigger and we kinda mangled the tach needle opening a bit. It looks like these gauges were meant for the Gen I cars, as they don't have the silver trim ring around the base of the needles, which made getting the overlay over those circular pieces a PITA. That little nub between the needles and where they the attach isn't on the Gen I cars, and created problems for the gauges to move properly. The needles in my car still don't work right until the car gets warm inside, so I'm gonna have to yank this out again and make the holes a little bit bigger....you can see on the tach side where it could get stuck on the lower RPMs..
Also caught the car hitting 60k on the way up to his place. You can also see how the overlay changed the layout to look more like the Gen I cars. Not too crazy about that as I like the Gen II layout better, but for 45 bucks or whatever these cost, I'll deal.
We also threw in the chrome front signal bulbs and the K&N FIPK that I got from NicksGTR. I'll get pics later. If anyone wants a used KKM True Rev kit, let me know
