Put these in the other day with the help of NickT88LSC. First off, what a pain in the balls to get this gauge cluster out. Holy crap. Not hard, but way more crap to get out of the way than any other car I've messed with.

As you can see from the pictures, we had to make the holes around the speedo and tach needle bigger and we kinda mangled the tach needle opening a bit. It looks like these gauges were meant for the Gen I cars, as they don't have the silver trim ring around the base of the needles, which made getting the overlay over those circular pieces a PITA. That little nub between the needles and where they the attach isn't on the Gen I cars, and created problems for the gauges to move properly. The needles in my car still don't work right until the car gets warm inside, so I'm gonna have to yank this out again and make the holes a little bit bigger....you can see on the tach side where it could get stuck on the lower RPMs..

Also caught the car hitting 60k on the way up to his place. You can also see how the overlay changed the layout to look more like the Gen I cars. Not too crazy about that as I like the Gen II layout better, but for 45 bucks or whatever these cost, I'll deal.

We also threw in the chrome front signal bulbs and the K&N FIPK that I got from NicksGTR. I'll get pics later. If anyone wants a used KKM True Rev kit, let me know :D

That looks good but damn that is bright. It would probably take me awhile to get used to something like that with the rest of the dash lights being green.

You can adjust the brightness and color between blue and a sort of green. It's actually not as bad as the picture makes it seem.

I put a set of those 02 inlays in my 04 went through making the holes bigger and wedging the needles higher.
Had to re and re the cluster a few times to get it right.
After about a month got tired of the look and went back to stock.

I'd rather be able to keep the black and make the lights of the stock a different color. Is the white of the stock itself colored green, or is it a green light behind?

i recently did the same thing to my gen 1,      it was a whole lot easier than what u explained but the only pita was the little bolt on the bottom right hand corner that is fuking crooked what the hell is that about anywayz other than that it was easy and it looks good to

does the gas light always light up? 276 left at 3/4 of the gas tank is just a little under what i get when my tank is full. i like the gauges but the job seems too much of a hassle.

I'm getting around 355-360 miles per tank. That is with 20's.....

Something must be going on with my car then. Mine says 277 til empty every time I fill it up. I have yet to hit 300 on a tank yet. on the other hand, the only time I do highway driving is on the weekends.

gauges look good man. A+

When you pull the cluster, your trip odometer and MPG gets reset. The car was idling so I could run the heat because it was windy and cold out. :(
