Reverse to park sucks

I'm doing a few things on line and doing a few searches then I am off to take the console out and examine that. Then I am lifting the car with a friend around ( I know he cant do :q:q:q:q if it falls on me but it gives some comfort...lol) and taking it from there. Now that you say something I may have some, I have been wanting to get around to a small socket bit that my kid put in the cup holder then without thinking about it flipped the cup holder over. I doubt this is the problem seeing how like i said I Can feel it in the trans and hear it from under the car but I think its worth a shot.

Took apart the center console, removed what was under it and no good results came of it. Lifted the car checked everything out it all was fine. Let the car run shifted back and forth and I did notice it is sometimes a bit better when I push down harder on the sift knob.

What could that be all about?

I looked into what you said Sooner but the actual shifter was fine. Could it be pressing something a bit harder inside the transmission it self?

Its so damn hot outside. I am wondering if this is playing a minor role along with something else?

This may just be my head playing tricks with me but it also seemed to work better depending on how I applied the brakes. I never found that exact spot but I noticed something funny was up with that. Again that could just be my mind playing games with me.

Is it possible that the brake/shifter safety interlock is not releasing properly? I have always disliked the Nanny attitude that produced these kinds of "safety" gadgets.

how about a compound problem? the brake shift interlock assy wasnt releasing properly causing you to push down harder on the shifter more than normal causing the noise from under the car :shifty:

I guess I could do a update on this.

Never found out what the problem is and it stopped happening as frequently. I still have the problem on occasion.

Thats it.

Same here, but it doesn't bother me enough to take the car apart to find out what's wrong. :p

Ill figure it out If/When it breaks.
