Researching Magnaflow Exhaust

I went to a shop to ask around too. I had no clue on what to get. They told me borla had a magnaflow kind of sound but it was just better quality and performance. Flowmaster was more on the deeper muscle car sound. I ended up getting the borla mufflers and resonators removed to make them louder.Some of the guy's on here that have magnaflows, it sounds deep and loud enough to hear while you drive, its nice. I couldn't really hear mine though. I like the performance improvement. It had a smoother, stronger pull, just couldn't really hear it. I ended up going back two months later for flowmasters, they neded up being too loud without the resonaters so I put them back on. Whats an x pipe? maybe this would've made a diff with the borla exhaust.
 
I was wondering if anyone on here had Borla components.
 
I had them but took them off for flowmaster.
 
Alax7, do you have them for sale?

The are a bit louder and higher tone than Mags.
 
Well at first they sounded nice but when I heard the magnaflows on youtube, I wasn't satisfied as much.Maybe it was also cause they had the camera right under the car and it made it sound louder than it actually was. I really like how it affected the performance though. I felt an improvement, it was nice. Not as much with the flowmasters. Thats why I was asking about the x-pipe. People keep posting get flows and x pipe and enjoy the deep sound. Maybe it would've made an improvement on the sound if i had them with the borla exhaust. You it was nice when i would turn on the car. I only have one in my garage, I put the other one on my dad's expedition, its sounds nice on there, but if you want them I'll take it off and sell them to you.

I still enjoy my magnaflows now that I deleted the resonators and put tips on...a whole world of difference Then again I'm a Gen 1 and not a Gen 2 like yours....but best of luck. My favorites if I had the extra funds would be CORSA dB mufflers or Bassani

Never understood why people always feel the need to post videos of cars with other motors, thinking the LS will sound like that.

FYI, those tips you have got resonators inside them or it would still sound crappy and raspy.

I had these cheap tips a friend gave me for free and they still made a difference in smoothing out the note and keeping that rasp down.

Ya I did notice the resonators in them. It sounds far better than those retarded turn down tips. I actually had to delete the resonators too cause one of them had a big dent from speed dumps and the other was cut open half way due to something so the black residue (carbon emitions I assume?) was all over the resonator.


And yes, fun to be back..just can't dis family members no more and posting stuff that might be offensive to someone even if not directed towards them :P

As for posting the Cors videos it's just to give the OP an idea of what it might sound like. I have'nt heard of ANY LS with Corsa's so FIRST you must prove to me that it WON'T sound like that....
 
WOW! I'm not use to reading pete's post with such a subtle tone it them. Some of your post were funny, half the time irrelevant to the thread question but it was funny. I dont see why you still can't post your "pete'sh replies". The whole family thing was kinda over board but besides that I didn't find most his other replies offensive. It's like when you get a fun, playful dog and habe him neuterd and it sucks the life out of them. Dont be like that pete, just easy with going over the line.
 
lol my balls ain't cut. Just busy with stuff and deciding about question the chiropractic job since it's completely dead since the chiropractor has scared away much of my clientel.

Do'nt worr I'm sure once boredom sinks in my "aloofness" will return. Like I most of what I post about is all fun and play...placed for fun :-D
 
No I'm not saying your balls are cut, I meant how after that a it weems like someone sucked out the life of the dog, its not playful and happy and it's just blah. I just pictured you being all blah and it was just weird to me. But hopefully the little incident wont change lvc cause its all just guys being guys, helping each other out with what we can while being guys and having fun.
