I was gonna say the same thing..... I love the Zr1. Did you happen to get an engine shot? I heard one at the drag strip a few years back.... one of the most exotic and nasty sounding v8's I've heard in my entire life. I remember stopping what I was doing when I heard it and immediately had to check it out in the pits.... that's when I first learned of the crazy DOHC Lotus-assisted designed small block under the hood. Simply awesome..
They were 385-430 HP depending on what day it was made and what guy put it together. Motortrend and several others dynod them back in the day and there were 50hp variences between them. His is a 90 and they loved to suck the door windows out as you approached 200 MPH. LOL
All aluminum DOHC 32V 5.7 V8 was just sex. They only came in 6 speed cause the autos couldnt stand up to the power. Was and still is a special car...... just a PITA to get in and out of. :lol:
If memory serves it was a Lotus design and built by Mercury Marine.

Yep! A friend and I were talking about that the other day..... I guess boat motor builders aren't held to very high constraints if they had 50hp variances! LOL! But excellent engine nonetheless
