Well, I got a set of rims and tires on the car, so I took it to the shop. I knew the alignment was off, but I didnt know that alot of the part are starting to go bad.

Well, I am looking at control arms bushing for the front and rear.
Sway bar bushing for the front and rear.
Stabilizer rods
Upper ball joing on the driver side, so I would rather replace the passenger since I am replacing things.
The lowers are not bad, but I think that I am going to repalce them also since everything is out.
Tire rods also.

So basically, I need to repalce everything in the front and rear that would keep a tire true.

What is the best place to get replacement parts. Cheaper the better, but I do want quality, but at the same time, I rather not have them Gold plated (figure of speech)

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Also, what am I looking at as far as lowering the car if I am already in there repalcing parts?

Thanks
Marco

parts

I used all OEM in the front and Dougs Delrin in the back. Koni rear shocks. SCP poly shock bushings.

Where do you find information on the parts?
The reason that I ask is that I looked on Ebay and I cant find anything with aftermarket vendors holding parts for the Lincoln ls

Rockauto has the best prices

also MOOG is better than our oem when it comes to quality of suspension parts. Xcept maybe not the shocks.

Here's a list of my build

Front:
stabilzer bar...dealer $180 (built-in bushings)
stabilzer links...dealer $57
inner tie rod ends...parts.com $35ea
outer tie rod ends...parts.com $38ea
lower ball joints...euromarque@ebay $75ea
lower control arms and bushings...salvage yard $100ea
left upper control arm...salvage yard $80
wheel bearings...rockauto.com $91ea

Rear:
left rear knuckle...salvage yard $80
rear wheel bearings...rockauto.com $23ea
axle retainer nuts...parts.com $6ea
rear adjust links...parts.com $73ea

the stabilizer bar, you can buy the bushings alone but i opted for the 'replacement fix' stabilizer bar because it was a little larger in diameter.

upper ball joints, i dont believe they make a replacement ball joint. i think you have to buy the control arm to get it. i'd like to know if they do make a replacement so if anyone knows of one please let me know.

WOW!

I thought that I was one of the few that has needed to change out all the parts, I guess that it isnt uncommon?

I have 130K on the car now

I did both front knuckles (before lower ball joints were avilable) at around 65K. The pass side had noticable play.

Moog

Makes some pretty stout parts. Used them for the sway bar links and made the OEM parts look like toothpicks when put side by side. Post your results, and pics of your progres..
