Ok guys well i'm replacing my fuel pump and i got the retaining nut off of the sending unit side and all i need to know now is how to the pump out...are there bolts i need to take off or do i just pull up on it please tell me i just have this last step to do and then i can be on to driving my LS (hopefully)

if you have replaced the fuel pump before please give me your expertise thank you

and yes i've done my research i've looked everywhere but no answer... please help

He means try searching. He would for you but he's on his phone.

Every intank pump I did. Remove locking ring or threaded ring. (Note on steel tank you should only use brass punch on steel lock ring so no SPARKS) Then pull out unit. If stuck pry up with screwdriver carefully. Some times you have to move sender unit around some to get out of hole. The strainer sock on bottom can be folded, moved to get it to come out of hole.

I am not really following what you are asking - I've had my fuel pump out a dozen times...

If you are saying... you have the blue retaining ring off the tank, and can get your hands into the tank - but you are having trouble getting the pump dislodged from the bottom of the tank? - right?

there are two tabs (180 from each other) at the top of the plastic canister - that snap into metal brackets in the tank itself. you simply squeeze the top of the tabs together and pull the canister up. be careful of the float arm and the bottom pickup as you have to angle the canister on it's way up to avoid damaging those items.
