Replacing Fuel Pump-- NEED HELP ASAP

I am attempting to replace the fuel pump on my 2001 LS. I found it, unplugged the electrical line, but I cannot unhook the white and red lines. I continue to try to push in the tabs, but these aren't moving. Is there anything I can try...? Thanks for any help...

push in on the connector while pushing in on the tabs and then pull out

you often have to push the line in a little to loosen it up, then tug it out.

Is it really necessary to remove the fuel tank or the back when doing this? I saw this on how to replace a fuel pump. And i wonder if this step is really necessary.

I never do - simply pull the rear lower seat cover out and you can do it. I don't drain the tank either - just be 'careful'

I finally got it out and the car started right up after replacing the fuel pump. Thanks guys.
