i have read the thread thats tells me what wire but the only time it will turn on the amp is if it is unplugged from the factory amp. But the only way i get a signal to the line out converter is when the factory amp has power.HELP!

im pissed off man I have the same problem.
I just hooked the remote wire up to one of the fuses in the trunk, but now my amp is on all the time. and my battery is slowly draining unless I pull the fuse from my amp when i turn the car off.
I NEED TO FIX THIS ASAP.

if you have to do it the easy way, one of the fuses in the REM will shut off with the ignition. use a meter and check them all.
i would tap in to the acc wire behind the radio for amp turn on, its there, it works, and no dead battery, i know it not as easy as cramming a wire into a fuse but a job done right is worth the extra work.

You can get a speaker level turn on from PAC (TR-4)

Why not use a relay to turn on the amp? The signal wire going to factory amp would activate the relay and then the 12v would come from the battery.

What I did when I was using an amp and subs with the factory deck was first I tied the remote wire into the fuel pump relay behind the fuse block in the tire well. Then for the RCA's I used a line out converter. I took the factory amp off the box for the rear deck and cut the leads from the amp that go to the rear deck speakers. I used those leads and ran them straight into the line out converter for RCA's. It worked perfect with no battery drain, the amp would come on when you would first turn the key on and would shut off as soon as you shut the car off.
I was unaware of that as I am still learning this vehicle.

i thought it was the fuel pump fuse that worked but i wasn,t sure. another good option instead of using a LOC is to just solder a set of rca ends on to the signal wires that run into the fact amp then you can take the fact subs out for a little more room for a good set of subs.
