Yeah its not general disc but it'll get more views here.

Your thoughts on them and what you do to prevent getting caught by them if you just so happen to slip up once? Do you stop abruptly and cuase a accident to avoid getting a hefty fine? Do you run it and hope it doesnt catch your plate correctly?

I only drive 12 miles to work and theres prob 4 rl cameras. All in the absolute worst/unsafe places to stop quickly if you have to.

Thoughts?

Are you serious? Just do the right thing and stop when you are suppose to. Eventually Johhny law will catch up to you if you keep f**king around. And doing things to trick or fool a device can cause more fines and fees if you attempt the stupid.

If someone hits you in the A**, then it is their fault to begin with for following too closely anyway. Sounds to me you are a speeder and by the time you realize it is yellow, you are to late to do anything about it. So, slow down, and do it right buddy. :D

This is such a great thread....RED means STOP! Don't do it cause the 5-15 seconds it takes you to stop and wait can save someones life. Just my .02 cents, just obey the law..

Ruffled youre feather eh Ape??
I'm by no means a speeder. I'm just saying that the 1 time where you are left with no other option but to run it, you'd be safe from said cameras and or an accident.. Not talking about going out and purposly running red lights and skipping toll booth fee's cause you can get away with it..

I'm not even sure the sprays and what not work. Was just curious if anyone uses such devices or if they've been nailed by one in the past and want to vent.

Just an overall disscusion on rlc's..

Nah, apes do not have feathers.

I have been caught by them, but not in the states, I have been caught in Germany a few times. We have them here in Florida all over. I never take the chance of being photo'd, cause there is no winner other than the city. It does not matter here if you are the driver or not, the car belongs to you, the ticket belongs to you, no mercy. The cities here want their money, and I honestly like having them. Not that it deters the offenders, they still are going to take their chances. I rather have them if it only saves one life, that is the intention of them. I see it all the time runners and the accidents they cause and the aftermath. Is it worth it to run it just to stop at the next one 100 meters down the road, as most lights are sequenced on timers.

I say throw all the runners in jail if it saves lives. I would hate to be a victim of a a**hole that has no care for him or herself to die over a red light.

This was caught on camera and also caught running the light that caused this to happen. My dad done this, thinking he was in a rocket ship one day.

I am against red light cameras on principle because they are being used as a measure to increase revenue for municipalities not keep any of us safer.

That being said, I do not condone running red lights.

Where I live, the red light cameras are installed and maintained by private firms. Not long ago, they got greedy and decreased the time it takes to turn from orange to red to catch more people and increase revenue.

Privite around here too. And Cali is by far the worst in fines and the companies shortning the timeing for the yellow. Thats the least of Cali's problems though.

Yup...the ones here in Houston just turns red after 1-2 seconds of yellow...others without cameras are 4-5 seconds

So was Jimmy Hoffa when he disappeared at around 2:30pm on July 30, 1975 from the parking lot of the Machus Red Fox Restaurant in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan , a suburb of Detroit .

If they had cameras up then, maybe they would have seen where he got off too.

Do they have red light cameras in Alabama?

They are ridiculous in Cook County in Illinois...I personally don't believe they are constitutionally legal...in Davidson County we have cameras strategically placed strictly for crime control not to issue moving violations.

Don't forget about Ted Nugent.

FAAAK RL cameras

As said in the thread, RL cameras are just there to generate money for municipalities and private corporations, not to make anything safer. Why don't we post a few at Dunkin' Donut shop doors and cite any cops who pass through the doors while on duty? It'd do just as much good.
OH! and make more money!
Also, reduce the amount of time the door stays unlocked in order to keep the cops there longer so we can ID them more easily?
Dunkin' Donuts could administer the program for us.........I'm sure if we paid them a percentage, they'd be fair about how the program was run!

As for cities that just bullly this crap trough the court, they're just counting on the fact that nobody will put up the balls and the cash to appeal it as far as it has to to be declared unconstitutional under "innocent until proven guilty", as in my face behind the wheel, my tag proven to be attached to my car by photo of the VIN at the same time, taken by a certified , calibrated, time and date encoded camera certified by an organization that has no profit motive in the camera operation. Ah faaak it, I'll just buy stock in the companies that are operating these things and use the profit to pay the tickets!
Or how about we paint ball the lenses until they get tired of cleaning them?HA-ha-ha-ha-ha, all the world's bull has finally driven me over the edge! With no camera there to catch it!

Kevin you are supposed to give us another famous person who came from Michigan with each post...
