Besides being low on fluid or some sort of problem with the brakes, I don't know but whatever you do, look under the booster to make sure no fluid is leaking onto the cat. Ask GMAN what can happen....

dunno about the mark, but on and off brake light in our taurus and truck is low on fluid.

If it comes on and off, it is low fluid. Ask me how I know.

no, my mark had the prblem with whenever the e-brake was pulled the light would come on, and when you released it it would not turn off for a day or two, that is if we are talking about the same light

On my 98, it so happens that the E-brake is very sensitive and if it is barely clicked one notch, that light would come on. I would engage the manual release lever by the seat and pull up on the e-brake by hand and it would go off. This may or may not be your problem, but worth a shot.

If it flickers on and off while driving up hills and sharp corners it is the fluid. Promise. If you ignore it and the level gets lower it will stay on instead of flickering.
