Do they still make the rear window for our cars or do I have to go used? All of this lovely snow we got broke one of my gutters loose and it shattered the rear window in my 96!

You can get them from just about any automotive glass company. You may want to call your insurance company though. Last time I checked they were about $1200.

Holy @#$%! It doesn't even have an antenna built into it or anything other than the rear defrost. Wow. That's crazy! That's okay though cause my State Farm has no deductible on glass :D I just wanted to be armed with correct info before they tried to BS me. I'm just glad it wasn't one of my quarter windows! I'm almost 100% sure that would be impossible to find new and maybe even impossible to find used.

End of this summer when I checked up here they went for about $600. I asked becasue the review mirror fell off my windshield so I was curious...
It's costs a lot partly because of the outer seal being moulded to the glass.
Call your insruance if they'll cover it :)

That sounds reasonable. At least now I won't have that high speed whistle from the seal anymore! The seal was still in good shape as far as appearance but it whistled around the upper right corner at highway speeds.

Yeah it will be nice to have the new seal too. Maybe the 95 needs to have an unfortunate accident too! LOL J/K When I call Safelite I'm gonna ask about those quarter windows too cause I'm curious now

Its funny that you say that because Ive got a quarter glass I have been trying to GIVE away and nobody wants it.

Does it have the Diamond Anniversary etching on it? That's the one I'm almost sure I would never be able to find. I honestly worries me now that one might break and I won't be able to replace it. I've even considered replacing them and keeping the etched ones on hand so they never get damaged LOL.

If I were you, I would be on the hunt down for another 96 VCRM just in case yours ever does go out. That's the hard part to find and if found, it isn't cheap because it's not made anymore and you have to buy it used. Small black box that is mounted out in front of your radiator next to your horns on the drivers side. I think you might need that before you would glass.

I sold one for $125... could have gotten a lot more on eBay... but it went to a forum member...

Pretty cheap KK! What's so bad is that the little box can go bad and make things not happen lol. If a glass gets broke, at least it can be replaced and you can still crank and go.

96Cordovan, you can get just the original 1/4 glass and do the swap to make sure you'll always have the DA glass but seriously, the VCRM would be a good investment right now before they really get scarce.

I have 3 VCRM's for the 96 and a PCM (also one year only):D I go to several u pull it scrap yards on a regular basis. I knew about the VCRM's and started stock piling them everythime I see a 96. I figure for the $20 they charge I'll buy everyone I find that way if i ever need it at least one will work! LOL

Well, It's a good thing you were on top of the game for that. I know where two 96's are in one yard and one in another. I didn't know at the time that they were a rare part and I know they still have them because Marks in my town are very rare. I need to go visit them and see if I can snag all of them. It's too easy of a part not to get.

I just checked local for rear glass.
$990 installed! JAMIEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

I called State Farm this morning and I do have free glass replacement :D They are going to set it up and have the glass place call me. I'll let you guys know what the cash price ould have been when they call me. I agree though that whatever it is would be worth it just to have the new seal ;)

Yeah and apparently you can sell them for a fortune LOL!

Well we all know these Marks are an expensive habit LOL. I guess the old saying is true "You gotta pay to play"!
